Indian film: case study of

Ramanna from raman

raghav 2.0

Raman Raghav 2.0 or better known as Psycho Raman is a

psychological thriller directed by acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap
it is based on the cat and mouse chase of the serial killer Raman
Raghav who had killed 41 people during the 1960’s in
bombay(mumbai).

This film revolves around a psychopathic serial killer named

Ramanna played by award winning actor Nawazruddin Siddiqui who
lives in mumbai. Through the film he thinks that his life is meant to
follow the voices from his mind which is the death god (Emadhrama
Raj) to ruthlessly kill people and send them up to him.ramanna’s first
victim was his dad( a drug dealer) played by Vipin sharma and his
sister Lakshmi played by Amruta subhash with her family. He also
has a desire to meet his obsession Raghavan, a corrupt policeman
who is in charge of the Ramanna murders. Later in the film it is shown
that Ramanna goes to Raghavan to surrender unapologetically

Through extensive analysis it is concluded that Ramanna is suffering

from a case of chronic paranoid schizophrenia and psychopathy as
he is showing most of the symptoms of this such as hallucinations ,
delusions, extremely disorganised behaviour and a lack of remorse
and empathy. According to medical professionals there is no cure for
this psychological problem and the only way is to keep the patient
away from society. Sadly people who have Chronic paranoid
schizophrenia have to be taken care of or in separate clinic’s or
asylums meant for the insane or else these people will go crazy, for
example in this movie when Ramanna does not like anything
according to his desire he will start acting abnormal.
