...‫اﻟﺴﻼم ﻋﻠﻴﻜﻢ‬
This free resource aims to help kids connect with
Ramadan through creative activities.
What’s included?

Some families love Ramadan crafts and others feel that its
unnecessary and a distraction. Personally, I’ve found them
really helpful to engage younger kids that aren’t fasting yet
and also distract kids who are still in their first years of
fasting.
I have some conditions though!
Activities should: I HOPE YOU FIND THE
ACTIVITIES ALL OF
be simple THESE THINGS!
be inexpensive
not require special supplies
and be lots of fun!
I’d LOVE to see your art work and creations. Tag me on

THE RAMADAN GALLERY
This mini gallery is a
perfect quick activity for a
range of ages.
Just print, provide
drawing supplies and grab
5 much-needed Ramadan
minutes for youself.
You could repeat each
year to see how their
tastes change and
drawing develops!

FOR DIFFERENT AGED KIDS:

Provide different colouring
materials if you have a
range of ages.
Older kids might like to paint or use colouring pencils
and crayons are always a safe choice for younger kids!

TOP TIP!
Avoid felt-tip pens if
you have printed with
a standard at-home
printer.

The blank ink bleeds.

Kids don’t always realise that
the moon is full in the middle
of the month, not a half! This
project is a great chance to teach about the moon phases!

BOOK MARKS
This is a classic project
and great to give as a
hand-made gift,
This set of bookmarks
contain quotes from the
Qur’an about the Qur’an,

Kids can write their

favourite ayat on the
blank bookmarks provided.

DIFFERENT OPTIONS
Add a tassle
You can make it even more special by adding a homemade
tassle. All you need is scissors and some yarn.

Watercolour
Watercolour splotches are really popular at the moment.
They look great as a background effect.
Mount on patterned paper
Cut out the book mark and mount on coloured paper or
patterned paper. Card would make it even more sturdy.

Laminate
Laminate for extra durability. Either use a machine or
sticky sheets used for covering books.
PROJECT 6

MASJID AGAMOGRAPH
This optical illusion produces very satisfying ‘oohs’
and ‘ahhhs’ from kids!

Once kids have learnt the method they can make

their own agamographs!

INSTRUCTIONS
Colour the two masjid pictures
One shows the sky at fajr
One shows the sky at maghrib

This is a great change to teach about the ‘false’ fajr

and learn about the true fajr and its appearance.
Cut the pictures along the vertical lines
Place them in alternate order as shown below.

Stick in order on a piece of landscape paper or card

Fold up accordian style

If you are using card
you can score the card
along the lines with
scissors or lightly with a
craft knife. This makes
it easier to fold.

If you stick it on your fridge or a bulletin, you’ll be

able to experience the optical illusion whenever you
go past inshaAllah.

I’ve included a blank template so you can make you

own. You can write a word transforming into another
word or draw your own pictures,
