55th INTERNATIONAL LADIE'S GRANDMASTER TOURNAMENT

Tournament regulations

Article 1.
The Chess Association of Belgrade is organizing the 55th INTERNATIONAL GRAND
MASTER TOURNAMENT OF WOMEN CHESS PLAYERS in Belgrade from 2-10. March 2024.

Article 2.
The following female chess players are participating in the tournament (ordered by
rating):

Article 3.
The tournament is played in the hall of the Mathematical Gymnasium in Belgrade
(Kraljice Natalija 37). The Technical meeting, where the tournament regulations will be
read and the tournament numbers drawn, will be held in the tournament hall on March 1,
2024 at 6:00 p.m.

Article 4.
The tournament is played according to the Berger system in 9 rounds in accordance
with the FIDE Laws of Chess. The tournament provides conditions to acquire norms for
WGM and WIM titles.

Article 5.
The rate of play is 90 minutes for 40 moves, then 30 minutes until the end of the
game with an increment of 30 seconds for each move played starting from the first one.
Regular rounds start at 3:30 p.m. every day except the first, which starts after the
opening ceremony, and the last round, which starts at 10:00 a.m. The players are allowed
to be late for 45 minutes from the time scheduled for the start of the game.

Article 6.
The opening ceremony will be held on March 2, 2024 in the game hall at 3:30
p.m.
The closing ceremony will take place immediately after the end of the last round.

Article 7.
The arbiters of the tournament are International arbiter Jasna Šakotić (Chief
arbiter) and National arbiter Milan Marković (Deputy). The Tournament director is Andrija
Jorgić, president of BCA.

Article 8.
The decisions of the chief arbiter are executive and can be appealed to the Appeals
committee no later than 60 minutes after the critical moment, or 60 minutes after the end
of the session.
The appeal shall be submitted to the tournament director or the chief arbiter in
writing.

Article 9.
The Appeals Committee consists of: international chess arbiters Nebojsa Baralić, as
chairmen, Petar Katanić Vujić and Rade Goljović, as members.
The Appeals Committee must make a decision by the start of the next round. The
decision of the Appeals Committee is final.

Article 10.
According to FIDE's recommendation, testing and application of the VAR system will
be conducted experimentally at the tournament, which will be covered in the Annex to this
rulebook.

Article 11.
Postponement of chess games is not possible in principle.
The game can be postponed only with the consent of the doctor and if there are
possibilities for the game to be played later.
If the case from the previous paragraph occurs, all games from earlier rounds must
be finished before the last round.

Article 12.
The winner of the tournament is the player who scores the most points.
In case places are shared, the following criteria decide: 1. Mutual result/s, 2.
Greater number of victories, 3. Sonneborn-Berger system, 4. Koya System, 5. Draw

Article 13.
For success at the tournament, the organizer has provided five cash prizes in the
total amount of 1.500 €; 1) 500 €; 2) 400 €; 3) 300 €; 4) 200 €; 5) 100 €;
In case of division of places, prizes are divided equally. The three first place
participants receive a trophy.

Article 14.
This regulation was prescribed by the tournament organizer and all participants are
obliged to comply with it. The participants will confirm their agreement with their
provisions by signing, according to the drawn tournament number.
