Science 1 Practical Notes Class 9th

This document describes 3 experiments related to Newton's laws of motion. In the first experiment, a coin is placed on a card over a beaker of sand. When the card is flicked, the coin moves forward due to inertia. In the second experiment, wooden and iron blocks are dropped onto wet mud. The iron block leaves a deeper impression due to having greater mass and momentum. In the third experiment, a balloon is inflated through a straw. When the finger is removed, air escapes the straw and the balloon moves in the opposite direction, demonstrating Newton's third law of motion.

Part 1

Experiment
1 Bxperiments based on Newton's laws of motion

Aim : To perform experiments based on Newton's laws of motion.

Requirements : Abeaker or glass, a piece of cardsheet. sand. a z 10 coin, an iron block and a wooden Dioch
of the same size, fine soil, water, a flat container. a balloon, a plastic straw, thread.

Part A
Procedure :
( ) Take some sand in a beaker or glass.
(2) Place a cardsheet on it.
(3) Keep a 10 coin on the cardsheet at the centre of the beaker or glass.
(4) Now flick the cardsheet with a finger. (The movement must be very quick.)
(5) Record your observation and explain it.
