TOPIC C007: RESPIRATORY PROTECTION PROGRAMS (A)
Introduction to Hazards: Breathing hazards are not always easy to detect and identify. The most common
threats are the lack of oxygen, and the presence of harmful dusts, smoke, gaseous fumes, vapors, and sprays.
Failure to guard against these respiratory dangers can cause long-term or permanent impairment and disability,
lung diseases, or even death. OSHA requires companies to establish and maintain a Respiratory Protection
Program for their workers.
