In the olden days, war and rebellion are common in Yorùbá
Idí nìyí tí ó fi jẹ́ pé àwọn alágbára ló máa ń joyè nígbà náà.
This is why warriors are always in ruling position back then.
Kì í ṣe pé Ọba ìlú gbọ́ dò jẹ́ alágbára nìkan,
Kings of the town must not be warrior alone,
ṣùgbọ́ n ó tún gbọ́ dọ̀ ní àwọn alágbára ní ọ̀ dọ̀ .

but he must have warriors around him.
Àwọn àgbà ní, 'Láti kékeré ni Músùlùmí ti máa n kọ́ ọmọ rè lásọ̀ '.

Most of those who do not have enough strength, endurance and courage usually
die before it’s up to three years.

When it about to reach three years, one out of the king’s children is already dead.

He explained how the three children of King Adewumi were sent for the training in
Ariori town and how lethargy and being a coward got one killed and the other ran
away.

He said he became King by the support of God and his heroic character with the
spirit of endurance he has.
