MUTALL-E-QURAN

→ Surah al-e-Imran, v.72

EXPLAINATION: This verse is addressed to hypocrites; such people fake their
religion and cause harm to the religion of Islam. After the battle of Uhud Allah
swt revealed their true faces to let the Muslims know hypocrites should not be
trusted.

→ Mahr:
Mahr is assigned to give financial security to women, also to lessen her
grievance to some extent. It is fundamental religious right of the wife which
should be paid right after getting married or whenever she demands. In this
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) clearly described the reason for
paying the hadith, mahr as:
‘’if he entered into her, then the Mahr is for her in lieu of what he enjoyed from
her private parts’’
Therefore, in the light of the Quran and Hadith, it can safely be said that the
mahr is the amount of wealth that a Muslim man must pay in order to be able
to start to, and continue to, enjoy a Muslim woman’s private parts in the way
sanctioned by Allah i.e., through halal conjugal relations

→ Riba:
Riba is equal to financial terms interest or unsury, refer to unequal exchange,
charges and fees for borrowing Allah emphatically forbidden. Riba in all forms &
declared its practice equal to disbelief in Allah. Prophet SAW has also specified
& prohibited Riba in clear terms. Allah says in Surah Baqarah: ‘’Those who
consume interest, cannot stand [on the Day of Resurrection] except as one
stands who is being beaten by Satan into insanity’’. Allah also says in Quraan
that: ‘’O Believers, take not doubled and redoubled interest & fear Allah, so that
you may prosper’’. An acceptable way for Muslims to spend Riba is to donate it
to charity.

→ Haram Wealth: Wealth which is earned by the wrong means such

as bribery, Riba, robbery, cheating etc., shouldn’t be spent for Allah. Allah
has promised to reward for halal income. Allah swt also doesn’t accept the
call or Dua of the people who collect haram wealth.
→ Ways of divorce:
[According to Surah Baqarah verses 229 and 230]
In the verses 229 and 230 of Surah Baqarah Allah Almighty describes the ways
of separation; divorce.

Allah says that a man may pronounce revocable (can be cancelled) divorce not
more than twice. If he pronounces it for the third time then both the man and
the woman would be unlawful on each other, permanently. Allah also says that
if a man and woman are not living a blissful life and think that separation is the
only way to solve the issue then there is no sin in it but if the husband
intentionally doesn’t let the wife go easily then he is committing a sin because
Allah said that let her go with grace and respect. The man can only remarry the
woman when she marries another man and he also divorces her and then she
returns back to her first husband and they think that they can again spend a
happy martial life within the limits set by Allah, so they can do Halala.

→ Impacts of divorce:
− Emotional turmoil
− Weakened families
− The suffer of children
− Satan becomes happy
− Promotes zina
− Tabbo of remarrying of women
− High level of depression
− Decrease in happiness
− Anger issues
− Increased health problems
− Loss of interest in social activity
→ Pillars of Islam:
Shahada, Salah, Zakat, Soum and Hajj are the five pillars of Isam which help us
to become responsible Muslims. They help us to refrain us from evil deeds, we
get closer to Allah, instills humbleness and righteousness, gives rights to others,
fulfilling responsibilities without being demanding. They help us to be a reliable
person as an individual and as in societal manners.
Shahada is the Muslim declaration of faith and the first Pillar of Islam. It
expresses the belief that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the
messenger of Allah. This belief in one God is known as monotheism. In order to
become a Muslim, a person simply has to declare the Shahada in front of
witnesses.
Salah also known as namaz is the second pillar of Islam and is obligatory upon
everyone above mature age. Represents the backbone of Islamic belief and
refers to the Muslim Prayer. It occurs five times a day, and offers five different
opportunities for remembrance of Allah SWT and our purpose in this life to
worship Him
Zakat is the third pillar of Islam and refers to giving the Alms or charity to
benefit the poor and the needy. Zakat reminds rich Muslims of their duty to the
poor and strengthens the feelings of brotherhood among Muslims and deepens
their fear and love for Allah.
Soum or fasting is the fourth pillar of Islam. Sawm means abstaining from many
things every day in Ramadan month from the dawn (call for Al-Fajr Prayer) to
sunset (call for Al-Maghrib Prayer), such as food, drink (including water),
backbiting, harming oneself, smoking etc. Every year, the Saum gives Muslims
the opportunity to gather control over their human needs.
Hajj (The Pilgrimage to Mecca) is the fifth and final mainstay of Islam. It’s an
extraordinary faith that demands Muslims to visit Mecca, the holy Mecca city
Mecca situated in Saudi Arabia at a specific date in the year in order to
participate in particular rituals. Hajj makes them focus on worshiping Allah
Almighty and teaches the importance of sacrifice. Pilgrims have the opportunity
to pray for forgiveness, reflect on their lives, and find spiritual fulfillment that
they can take with them.

→ Difference b/w Zakat and Sadqa:

Zakat Sadqa
--Zakat is compulsory -- sadqa is not compulsory
--One of the pillars of Islam -- Not a pillar of Islam
--Has a specific rate --No specific amount
--Has specific time --No specific time
--Given to specific recipient --Given to whomsoever the giver wishes

Verbal Ibadat: Recitation, Ashkar, supplication,

Physical Ibadat: Roza, Hajj, Namaz, Jihad, Umrah
Financial Ibadat: Zakat, Sadqa, Sacrifice

→ Archers fatal mistake+ impact+ learning for

today’s Muslims:
The Battle of Uhud, the second fierce battle of Islam, didn’t result as a positive
outcome for the Muslims but still it taught many lessons to Muslims from some
lesson worthy events. The most important event that led towards the dangers
that Muslims faced in the Battle of Uhud was the FATAL MISTAKES OF THE
ARCHERS. When Prophet reached the battlefield and arranged his army, he
chose 50 skillful archers under the command of “Abdullah bin Jubair” and
assigned them a very important position on the mountain at the south of Qanat
valley because Prophet Muhammad ‫ ﷺ‬knew that it was the only way from
which they could face attack of disbelievers. So, by positioning the archers
there, he completely blocked the way for attack. The battle begun in the Favour
of Muslims and soon the disbelievers were running back like scared sheep.
When Muslims saw the fleeing enemies, they thought that they have already
won so they started collecting the spoils left by the polytheists. The archers also
saw this and suddenly they also wanted to go and collect the spoils. Their
commander, Abdullah R.A, stopped them and reminded them the order of
Prophet ‫ ﷺ‬to not leave their places until he orders them to. But the archers
quarreled with him which resulted in 40 (out of 50) archers excluding Abdullah
bin Jubair and ten of his followers leaving their positions and running towards
the spoils without any weapon. When Khalid Bin Waleed (not yet Muslim) saw
only ten archers on the mountain, he attacked them with 200 armed horsemen.
Soon the course of Battle turned upside down, and constituted a source of
heavy losses among the Muslims.
The Prophet was almost murdered. After the lethal mistake of the archers,
the Muslims were encircled by the polytheists and the battle intensified around
the Prophet. Although the polytheist couldn’t accomplish their aim of killing the
Holy Prophet, Muslims faced many causalities and Muslims lost the Battle. It
also left a bad impression on the dignity and the fame of Muslims that they
deservedly earned in at the Battle of Badr.

→ The mistake of those Muslim archers teaches us many lessons

that Allah can test you any time, even during an intensified moment.
When we desire and run after worldly possessions, we don’t care of
anything and we stop controlling our Nafs and we gradually join the path
of wrongdoers. And we are defeated when we change our intention
(related to the God) to the worldly intention. This event also teaches us
that when we turn deaf ears to the orders of our commander, then this is
the result.
