CHAPTER IV

DEVELOPMENT, TESTING, AND IMPLEMENTATION

This chapter covers the proponents' development and testing methods, as well as the system
development life cycle and implementation strategy.

In performing this capstone project, the proponents used several data collection approaches as
well as various analytical tools to aid and justify the study. The data collection techniques
allowed the proponents to pinpoint the issues that the owner and staff had with the current
system. Interviews, observations, and brainstorming were used as analytical techniques. The
information gathered was examined and used as a foundation for the system's design and
development.

On system development, the proponents used the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with
a Waterfall Model, in which the entire software development process is carried out in a
sequential manner using the following steps: planning, analysis and design, coding and
debugging, testing, implementation, and maintenance.

Development
1. Planning

The proponents performed an interview to gain information on how the owner kept the records.
It was discovered that he manually processes the records on a record book, so the proponents
planned to develop a automated Point of Sale System for Farmacia Albatera to secure the
information and making it easier for the admin in the future.

II. Analysis and Design

Following the interview and data collection, the proponents assessed the data, conducted
research on related literature, conducted experiments, and examined how the current premises
manually kept their records. As a result, a perspective on software design that is explicitly
addressed, where the proponents used PHP and Visual Studio Code to create a user-friendly
design.

III. Coding and Debugging

The proponents employed the Visual Studio Code to code the system's source code during
development. The source coding system was determined, and the relationship between data was
studied for software development. After developing, the proponents run the program to test it,
look for errors, and debug it.

IV. Testing

Installing the system was a critical element of the testing phase. While processing it for the first
time, the proponents met some momentary issues and technological faults, but after testing, the
workflow improved and was effectively implemented.

V. Implementation

An implementation test was to be conducted by the proponents. The test was designed to have
built system for approval or acceptance to the responses under actual operational conditions,
where a running program will be used for real-time activities inside the pharmacy.

VI. Maintenance
Finally, the proponents distributed a user manual that encompasses various forms of computer
maintenance needed to keep a system running or other attributes.

TESTING

Load

The Graphical User Interface (GUI) is intended to provide accurate operational and useful results
to the users. The data obtained by the proponents in the first phase will be used to create a
computerized billing and inventory system that will keep student records securely.

Implementation Plan

The proponents intended to adopt an automated Point of Sale System for Farmacia Albatera to
secure the records. The suggested system is developed and provided by a user manual for system
maintenance, regardless of the system or any challenges that may arise when running it.

The process of transaction is computerized, and neither user will lose time. The proponents felt
that implementing a computerized system would improve the service. lessen the workload of the
admin and eliminate all the challenges and difficulties associated with the manual approach. As a
result, the proposed system enables the admin to keep and generate information securely while
ensuring accurate and trustworthy records.

CHAPTER V
RESULTS, DISCUSSION, CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

Results and Discussion

This chapter addresses the detailed data analysis and the program design interface for effective
functioning of the developed system. The proponents tried to analyze the data gathered from
conducted interview, observation, existing document review and questionnaire on the course of
this study. This section also deals with the flow of process and specifications together with its
functions.
