EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Company Mission Statement

Concreate is an advanced construction solutions company that aims to create innovative
products that will help the society grow and prosper towards a sustainable future. We at Concreate
believe that by spearheading the movement for sustainable development through our self-healing
concrete technology, we can create a foundation for the modern society in building and
infrastructures that is economical, maintenance-free, and future-ready.

Company Vision Statement

Concreate as a global leader for cement innovation and development known for its nano-
technological and microbiological advancements in construction technology. A pioneering
company that founded and implemented a sustainable and eco-friendly construction methodology
on major private and public projects around the world.

Company Goals
 Lessen overall infrastructure maintenance costs overtime

Our self-healing concrete technology repairs hairline cracking of the concrete surface
preventing it to develop into a future damage into the infrastructure, hence maintenance cost
is lessened.

 Contribute to nature preservation by reducing resource use through maintenance

By making maintenance repairs as low as possible, resources use in project renovation will
be reduced, thus contributing in lowering the demand for construction material resources.

 Promote sustainable development of society

Being the first of its kind, our self-healing cement technology will inspire and create an
upsurge in sustainable development technology across different fields not only in
construction
Product Description
Concreate cement is a new innovation in the cement production industry that incorporates

modern microbiology and nano-technology to prolong the life-span of modern-day infrastructures

and completely minimize the cost of maintenance concrete structures. The nano-silica infused cement

material will yield concrete structures with a refined porosity and density and a higher mechanical

strength and thermal resistance. Hairline cracks that is present during the early phase of construction of

the concrete will gradually repair itself when exposed to water that activates the dormant bacteria

present in the concrete to lengthen its service span.

Concreate cement will change the way we use Portland cement as a mere construction element.

This product will take part in the revolution for a more sustainable future for society’s infrastructure as

all the products of the company will be. As the market gears up towards products that are eco-friendly and

sustainable, the company with its product will take a step forward in this direction to suit the current needs

of the consumer base in these types of products.

location will be the main headquarters and store main branch of the company.

Financial Information
The company is set to start with a funding request primarily consisting of monetary support from

major investing companies. This will help the company in its startup phase during its development. A

total of ₱ 18,095,000 shall be procured by the team and shall be the capital. This will consist of the

expenses that the company will be using during the first year of the business. These funds shall be loaned

Growth Plans
For the next succeeding years of the business, the company aims to a business expansion. This

will primarily include sister companies as well as partnership from other related businesses in order to
increase the company’s business network as well as its reputation. Furthermore, as the product becomes

well known to the general public, the company would like to expand its location by having branches in

other prime places for businesses. Two of the key locations the company would like to consider a branch

would be in Quezon City, Manila and in San Fernando, Pampanga. The company will also consider

extending the product line to not only in cement, but also in other ventures in the industry such as CHB

additives. Of course, these products will also have innovations in line with the company’s goal of making

a sustainable and maintenance free future.

Moreover, for the next five years the company would expect the following income growth:

As seen in the figure, the company will pay the debt of ₱ 18,095,000 by the start of the 5th year of

the business and will be making its own profit by then. In these time, the company profits can look to

capitalize on the expansion of the business by focusing the profit allocations to important aspects such as

research and development, marketing, and/or business partnerships to ensure long-term success.
MARKET ANALYSIS

Concreate

We would specifically target engineers up to large scale-contractors since they

are ones who are aligned with in utilizing our product. As a product whose aim is to
improve the lifespan and efficiency of a concrete in different structures, engineers
who are most likely associated with this work would benefit the most.

Factors Affecting the Market

Calamities – Several natural disaster/s are damaging structures in our country.
Given these problems, engineers would eagerly find solutions and innovations in
their services in order to compensate for the damages in their works that caused by
disasters.
Population Growth- In the Philippines, exponential population growth exists
so as the years pass by, more and more individual are deciding to build, purchase
and find buildings/houses for shelter. As a result, different engineers would find
solutions and innovations to accommodate the needs of the people.
Consumer Preference- The preference of the consumers can affect the
business. The location can determine and affect the number of consumers that will
inquire of the products offered. The prices determined the consumer to pay a product
at a fair cost.

Marketing Strategies

It is important to the proponents to consider the marketing strategies, on how

the proponents will apply these strategies to be able to attain the objectives and goals
of the research business, especially the 4’Ps of marketing.

• Product
Engineering construction firms and shops that supplies concrete product is not
entirely new in the Philippines but an innovated one is a rare aspect of their product
that these firms lack. The company will choose to venture on this type of business
to lessen the competitors in the chosen field of expertise.
An innovated solution to a common problem – people that see cracks on their
concrete walls usually ignores it and leave it as it is. Little did they know that these
cracks might expand more because of factors such as thermal expansion and
shrinkage of the concrete itself. These cracks might decrease the strength of the
structure especially the reinforcement steel bars when exposed in the air. The
aesthetic and design of the interior part of a building or house might also ruin by
these cracks that appear out of nowhere.
Construction hardware shops nearby our location lacks these aspects on their
product. Although, they are selling popular ready-mix cement products such as
Portland cement, the chances of the cement-cracking will most likely happen again.
In our case, those cracks will vanish later soon when it appears. Since our
competitors’ market is only limited with those normal ready-mix cement products,
our company would surely outstand our competitors. With these, one of the
important factors that our company should consider is how to preserve the market
properly and how we can make our customer consider our product again.
• Price

Richardson (1997) states that, “… setting a price for a product or service using
the prevailing market price, going to rate pricing is a common practice with
homogenous products with very little variation from one producer to another”.
The company will price the product according on how it would compete to or
competitor’s offers. If our team have evaluated it and we found out that our product
is better than our competitor’s, then we will price it higher. On the other hand, when
we found out that the product is just right to compete with our competitor’s products,
then we can price it along with theirs and if we ever lose on their product, then we
would price it lower than their prices.

Here is our major competitor analysis:

• Promotion

As a start-up business, we chose to promote our business only through flyers,

streamers and banners. It will be printed and this will be place and distributed in
malls and streets. Also, since the media is a growing medium of trade, we will also
invest time in advertising online since our target market’s resources might get an
idea in this platform. As a starting business, we need to build awareness to our target
market, so we have to use those media to promote our business.

FINANCIAL PROJECTIONS

Figure 6. Cost of producing goods

The figure above shows how the commercial retail price for the 40kg cement bag was computed.
The price for the components comprising the bag of cement was noted indicating the amoung per bag.
Taking into consideration other factors such as utilities, communication, etc. the unit cost per unit was
computed. The selling price was then decided by doubling the unit cost per unit to compensate and provide
profit for the company during the 5 year projection.

Figure 7. Cost of producing goods

The figure shows volume of the company’s product selled during every year of its startup period.
Under estimation, the company shall produce roughly 60,000 units of 40 kg Concreate cement bags. This
value was computed considering the planned sales per year which is 51,000 units. Unexpected
circumstances was also considered so the team included and ending finished goods inventory in order to
compensate shortages in production in the succeeding years that may arise.
Figure 8. Projected income statement and projected cash flow for the next 5 years
