• General Min Aung Hlaing, the Chairman of the State Administration Council, installed a gold nut connecting
the structures of Bago River Bridge (Thanlyin Bridge-3) in Yangon Region on 2013 December 17.
• Chief Engineer of Bago River Crossing Bridge project – U Tun Lin
• The Department of Bridges under the Ministry of Construction is taking
responsibilities for implementation of the bridge project.
• Bago river bridge is Japan-Myanmar Cooperation project.

billion of ODA loan with soft interest rate from Japan
International Cooperation Agency-JICA. The loan
period was set for 40 years including 10 years
suspended period.

Equipment
• Most of the construction equipment and machineries for bridge erection
shall be procured from other countries

• General construction machineries (e.g., bulldozer and backhoe) and barge

mounted crane can be procured in Myanmar

• Main contractor shall be international construction company.

• Special skilled labour for bridge works shall be procured from other ASEAN countries for the
conditions of the cost estimation.
 .The Construction of Bago River-crossing Thanlyin Bridge , Thanlyin and Thilawa Special
Economic Zone is now 97% complete and is expected to finish in 2024 May.



