This game can be played by your learners in pairs or in groups of three or four. See the suggestions below for how to play the game with four players.
First, two teams of two students each
are designated. The four students then sit around a cleared desk and place one set of 30 cards face down on the desk.
The first team begins with one player
flipping a card over, followed by his or her teammate flipping over another card. If the cards match, they can keep the cards. If the cards don’t match, they should be returned to exactly the same places they had been in. Play then turns to the other team.
At the end of the game, when all the
cards have been matched, the two teams count all of their cards to find out who has the most cards – and who has won the game.
Making the game easier:
Place half the cards – the adjectives – on one side of the desk, and place the other cards – the adverbs – on the other side.
