    Carlos CAIRES will give a presentation on February 19th or 20th at 16:00 in Lisbon on Immersus, a MAXMSP patch he developed that allows users to spatialize different sound sources in 3D space using hand gestures detected by a LeapMotion sensor. The presentation will demonstrate Immersus and discuss ideas for further implementation. Attendees can try using Immersus themselves to spatially perform and improvise with audio files on their mobile phones through a web browser.     Immersus, or “YAFS” (yet another free spatialiser), is a MAXMSP patch initially designed for the
    ESML 16-channel dome (immersus/IDI&CA-IPL project, Jaime Reis, Sergio Henriques and Carlos
    Caires), through which, using a LeapMotion sensor, the user can spatialise different sound
    sources with the movement of their hand. The software also includes other features aimed at
    sound performance and improvisation in immersive environments. In this presentation I will
    demonstrate its use, discuss ideas to implement and invite the public to try the device.
    Bring your files (mp3, mono, up to 5MB) and join spat-jam using [also] just your mobile phone
    (no additional apps needed, just a browser).
