    This research article examines the association between parenting behaviors and adolescent romantic relationships. It finds that parenting styles characterized by warmth, support and monitoring are linked to healthier romantic relationships in adolescents, while permissive or disengaged parenting is associated with less healthy romantic relationships. The study was conducted by four authors from various universities and published in the Journal of Adolescent Health in August 2009.
