Q1) Define nation:
Ans) A nation is a group of people who live within the same country.

Q2) Define nationality:


Ans) Nationality is the identity of a citizen that shows which country one belongs to.
Q3) Explain how Pakistan is a diverse country?
Ans) In Pakistan, people from different religions, languages and cultures live in peace
because they show tolerance and support for each other. This help them to progress as
society.
Q4) List the main religions of the subcontinent:
Ans) The main religions followed throughout the subcontinent are Islam, Hinduism,
Christianity, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Zoroastrianism.

Q5) Briefly discuss the religions followed by the people of Pakistan:


1) ISLAM:
a) 96% of the population of Pakistan follow Islam and are Muslims.
b) Muslims believe that Allah is only one God and Mohammad (PBUH) is His
last Prophet.
c) Muslims follow the teachings of their holy book called The Quran.
d) They go to the mosque for offering prayers.
e) They believe in life after death.

2) CRISTIANITY:
a) Christians follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.
b) Their holy book is the Bible.
c) Christians worship in churches.
d) They give high respect to Mother Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.

3) HINDUISM:
a) Hinduism is one of the oldest religion in the world.
b) Hindus pray in temples.
c) Their holy books are Vedas, Bhagvat Gita etc.
d) Hindus believe in the caste system.

4) SIKHISM:
a) Sikhs follow the teachings of their Saint called Guru Nanak.
b) Sikhs pray in the temple called Gurdwara.
c) Their holy book is called the Guru Granth Sahib.
d) The birth place of Guru Nanak, Nankana sahib is located in Pakistan near
Lahore.
e) Pilgrims from Pakistan and India used to visit here.

5) BUDDHISM:
a) Buddhist follow the teachings of Gautama Buddha who was a prince in India.
b) He roamed for a long time in search of peace and harmony.
c) He then became known as the Buddha or the enlightened one.
d) Buddhist worship in temples.

6) ZOROASTRIANISM:
a) Parsees follow the teachings of their leader Zoroaster.
b) Their holy book is called The Avesta.
c) Parsees pray in fire temples where a flame is always kept alight.

Ans) Sindhi, Punjabi, Pashto, Balochi, Brahvi, Hindko, Seraki & Gujrati.
