Solve the following;

1. Compute the deflection at Midspan for the beam shown, EI is constant (Hint: Draw the M diagram by
parts, starting from midspan toward the ends. Also take advantage of symmetry to note that the tangent
drawn to the elastic curve at midspan is horizontal.)

2. Compute the Midspan Deflection of the beam shown, EI is constant.

3. For the beam loaded as shown in the figure, compute the moment of area of the Moment diagrams
between the reactions about both the left and the right reaction. (Hint: Draw the moment diagram by
parts from right to left.)

4. From the beam loaded as shown, draw shear and moment diagrams, specifying values at all change of
loading positions and at points of zero shear
