TITLE: Excessive Conformity leads to Self-Love Deprivation as a Predictor of Depression among Senior
High School Students of Our Lady of Fatima University

OBJECTIVE: There have been different studies about conformity, self-love deprivation and depression
among individuals but not linking into each other and have not yet been explored and given an
attention. In this study we will test if excessive conformity can lead to self-love deprivation as a
predictor of depression.

BRIEF BACKGROUND: In this 21st conformity has arisen through many people comply with standards,
rules, or laws. It affects lives globally. Strong conformity will lose the appreciation of oneself. Losing love
from yourself also means losing yourself, becoming into different person. In this case maybe in any
other way conformity can lead to self-love deprivation resulting to an individual depression. Conformity,
Self-love deprivation, and depression has been studied for years and never linked together but what will
happen if these three variables will be linked to each other.

PROPOSED RESEARCH QUESTION:

Does excessive conformity can lead to self-love deprivation?

Does self-love deprivation cause depression?

Is excessive conformity and self-love deprivation can be a predictor of depression?

Does a senior high school student in Our Lady of Fatima University experiencing excessive conformity
lead them to self-love deprivation to suffer in depression?

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY:

For the students and their family: To protect their mental beings as well as the people
surrounds them and more equipped with more ideas regarding the effects of conformity that
can lead to self-love deprivation as a predictor of depression.

For future researchers: To be more open-minded with the new studies that could help them
as a guide to resolve their issues in the future.
