Summary: Holter is a heart rate monitoring system and is considered one of the
cardiologist's main diagnostic tools; Its inventor was the biophysicist Norman Holter
with invasive and non-invasive methodological measurements. Non-invasive surface
devices are based on continuously storing signals from the moment the device is
activated on the patient and continuously recording their heart rate for 24 to 48 hours.
They also mention in the article that the Holter monitoring study has a low sensitivity
for the diagnosis of syncope due to its transient nature of onset. The main objective
of this text is to show how electronic devices such as the smartphone can be used
to collect cardiac electrical signals through a surface electrocardiogram that is taken
directly from the person with just the touch of a finger on their hand. Subsequently,
these electrical signals are transformed into ultrasounds which are captured by an
application called AliveECG and these are transformed into an electrocardiographic
tracing for 30 seconds.
