INTRODUCTION

Human resources policies are the formal rules and guidelines that business put in place to
hire, train assess , and reward the members of their workforce. These policies when organized
and disseminated in an easily used form can serve to preempt many misunderstandings
between employees about their rights and obligations in the business place. It is tempting ,as
a new small business owner, to focus on the concerns of the business at hand, and put off the
task of writing up a human resource policy. All business analysts and employment lawyers
will advise a new business owner to get a policy down on paper, even if it is simple one
drafted from a boilerplate model. Having policies written is important so that it is clear to all
what the policies are and that they are applied to consistently and fairly across the
organization. Moreover when issues concerning employee rights and company policies come
before federal and state courts, it is standard practice to assume the company’s human
resource policies. Whether written or verbal, are part of an employment contract between the
employee and the company. Without clearly written policies , the company is at a
disadvantage .

Importance of HRM
We have discussed the basic concept of HRM and the ways in which it helps the organization
meet its goal. It this project, we discussed the reasons for organizations to have a HRM
strategy imperative for organizational success.
It helps to thrive in the chaotic and turbulent business environment, firms need to constantly
innovate and to be “ahead of the curve” in terms of business practices and Strategies. It is
from this motivation to be at the top of the pack that HRM becomes a valuable tool for
management to ensure success.

Importance of HRM for Organizational Success

The practices of HRM must be viewed through the prism of overall strategic goals for the
organization instead of a standalone tint that takes a unit based or a micro approach . The idea
here is to adopt a holistic perspective towards HRM, that ensures that there are no piecemeal
strategies and the HRM policy enmeshes itself fully with those of the organizational goals.
For instance, if the training needs of the employees are simply met with perfunctory trainings
on omnibus topics, the firm stands to lose of direction. Hence, the Organization that takes its
HRM policies seriously will ensure that training is based on focused and topical methods.
