    Microwave-assisted oxidation of aromatics using hydrogen peroxide and a supported tungsten catalyst was found to produce higher yields of oxidation products compared to conventional heating. Both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis provided improved yields under microwave irradiation. Microwave irradiation allowed aromatics to be oxidized by hydrogen peroxide more effectively with a supported tungsten catalyst than conventional heating methods.
