Company Profile
Established formally in February 2000 based on
unanimous recommendations, PEGAMMALO aimed to
facilitate coordination among small fisherfolk and
farmers. Over two years, it generated almost
Php25,000.00 in net income, expanding its market
area from an initial capital of Php44,163.00. While
planning further expansion, limited revolving capital
slowed progress.
Setbacks occurred with the 7.2 magnitude earthquake
and super typhoon "Yolanda," impacting Bohol
province. PEGAMMALO's Trading and Marketing
Center suffered damage, leading to losses in beverage
products. In response, proactive members proposed a
subproject for recovery, later taken up as a
rehabilitation project with support from DA-PRDP.
The project's total cost is (Php 1,000,000.00),
distributed among counterparts from the World Bank,
Philippine Government, Department of Agriculture,
Provincial Local Government Unit of Bohol, and the
Proponent Group.
The main thrusts of the Federation are to organize and
educate the small fisherfolk and farmers in Loon being
the tertiary sector of society, plan and implement an
alternative trading and marketing System and Organic
Farming methods in consonance with the dimensions
of sustainable agriculture in response to climate
change and commits to respond to socio-economic,
political and environmental problems and needs of the
fisherfolk and farmers so as to take an active part in the
advancement of their livelihood and economic
interests.
2 The Project
The BPME will be implemented in two components on
farmer level consolidation of produce and on the
processing center. It involves a centralized production

project beneficiary member level, the coconut farmer
producer will have their own individual coconut juice
extracting activities whose total produce will be
reserved for purchase by the industry association for
consolidation and further processing in the common
production center.
Grant Purpose
Primary Objective
1. The BPME intends to contribute to the Provincial
Eco-cultural Tourism and Poverty Reduction
Thrust to address the problem on low income and
unemployment; and
2. Strengthen the engagement of local producers
with the LGUs and private sector in establishing,
managing and sustaining community-based
entrepreneurship with the development of wider
markets.
Specific Objectives
1. To increase income of members by
10 % from ₱5,000 to ₱5,500 per month;
2. To establish two (2) Bahalina processing units
operated by the federation to produce quality
products; and
3. To expand membership from 19 to 22 Peoples
Organizations after one year of project
implementation.
