What inspired you to pursue a career in development?

“I have always been interested in social justice and making a difference in the world. When I learned
about development work and its potential to improve the lives of people living in poverty, I knew it was

What do you think are the biggest challenges facing development officers today?
“There are a number of challenges facing development officers today. One of the biggest is the need to
constantly adapt to the ever-changing landscape of philanthropy and fundraising. This means keeping up
with new trends, technologies, and approaches, and being able to quickly adapt and apply them to their
work.

Another challenge is the increasing competition for philanthropic dollars. With more organizations
competing for a limited pool of resources, development officers must be strategic in their approach to
fundraising and be able to make a case for why their organization is worth investing in.
Finally, development officers must also deal with the challenges that come with working in a fast-paced
and often stressful environment. They must be able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines, and
maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.”

difference?
“There are many important things that development officers can do to make a difference, but I believe
