Statement of Purpose

I, Aashish Sharma, holding passport number W6099940. My DOB is 01-06-1999. I've submitted my
application to the James Cook University’s Bachelor of Information Technology program. Regarding
my academic, I completed my 10TH from CBSE in 2020 and 12TH from same board in 2022.

I scored overall 7.0 in IELTS exam held on Nov 10, 2022. Though, India is enriched with top
universities that provide quality education but there are many detectable flaws in Indian education
system that has stopped me to study in India. But the most ideal destination for studying
Information Technology is Australia. James Cook University (JCU) is a world-class university that
ranks one of the world’s top 300 universities, having also recently attained the prestigious QS 5 Stars
ranking in 2021 for their achievements. It is ranked 461 in QS World University Rankings 2023.

Bachelor of Information Technology focuses current technical concepts and practices in the core
information technologies of networking, data management, software engineering, computer
security. After completing my course, I will be returning back to my home country, India. There, I can
work as software engineer, business analyst, systems administrator, mobile system developer, web
developer etc. My long term plan is to become a systems administrator. The average salary for a
Medical Scientist is ₹6, 00,000 per year. As India is a developing country and IT sector is not that
strong, it requires more systems administrator.

I am financially strong. Both my parents are working and have a good source of the annual income.
Though, I will miss my family for a short period of time during in Australia but I will be back after
completing my studies. As I have the responsibility of my family and my home country. I have to take
care of all the assets that my family have.
