INSTRUCTIONS:
Draw the objects below using AutoCAD.
Use the template acadiso-uj.dwt.
Create all the drawings on one drawing area (one drawing file) and use one layout.
Estimate the missing dimensions or assume symmetry.
Remember to apply Zoom Extents before you save your drawing.
Submit on Blackboard and strictly follow the instructions.
Total marks: 30.

Question 6 (25 marks)

Given: The figure below shows column and footing details for a residential building.
Required and Instructions:
A) Reproduce the elevation and plan of the footing as indicated.
• Use a scale of 1:20.
• Create and use the layers below:
Name Linetype Colour Lineweight Application
Annotation Continuous red Default Dimensions, labels and scale, notes and title block
Concrete Continuous white 0.30 All the concrete components (column and footing
outlines and edges).
Reinforcement Continuous red Default Reinforcement.
Hint: Change the thickness of all the reinforcement
elements to 8 mm (Properties)
• Insert dimensions according to SANS 10111-1 and 10143 standards.
• Use a suitable arrowhead size, text height for dimensions and text (labels, title block,
notes and schedule).
• Hatch as indicated. Use “AR-CONC” pattern and a suitable hatch scale.
• Prepare the Layout for plotting. Create viewports as indicated below. Use (or create and
use) a Viewport layer. The viewports intersect midway (half a page). Use Viewport A for
the Plan and Elevation and Viewport B for the Isometric drawing below.
• Complete the title block using Annotation layer. Leave the scale field blank and indicate
the scale below each drawing label.

B) Draw an isometric view of the footing starting at the corner marked X.

• Use a scale of 1:16.
• Create and use the layer below:

• Add a label “ISOMETRIC” and scale note below the drawing.
