English as a word language

Comparing Slavic languages, English has always been the youngest language.
It's only 1,000 years old. English belongs to the Germanic group of languages.
Germanic is a language probably spoken by a specific part of the world, but it
no longer exists. Germanic languages now include German, English, Dutch,
Swedish, and many others.

As we know, there are three eras of English, the first is Old English from 450 to
1100, the second is Middle English from 1100 to 1500, and the third is Modern
English which began in 1500 and continues to this day.

In ancient times in northern Europe, English was divided into 3 main dialects,
the first eastern group became extinct, the second group was distributed in
Scandinavia and Iceland, and the third group was laid out in Europe.

By the late 18th century, the British Empire had made a lot of colonies.
Moreover, they had established their dominance all over the world.
Consequently, the English language quickly spread in the British colonies.

There was also the contribution of technology, science, diplomacy, art, and
formal education, which led to English becoming a truly global language.

More than 7,000 English words that we use today are taken from French.

As trade spread, so did the language. Now the language continues to evolve,
perhaps the language we speak now will be to some people what Old English is
to us now.
