“There’s a threat in general [to the Adiala Jail], not Imran Khan, that something unpleasant might

happen. Therefore, it is important not only to ensure Imran Khan’s security, but everyone else’s.”

Expressing severe concerns over the abrupt ban on Khan’s meeting in Adiala jail earlier in the day, PTI
Chairman Gohar Ali Khan feared that the former prime mAuthorities in Montgomery County fatally shot
an armed man who was reportedly attempting to sexually assault a woman in a house in the 14710
block of Callard Court, local media reported Tuesday.

The officers from the Conroe Police Department received reports of an assault around midnight and
found a woman screaming as she was held by the armed man with a gun on her head, said Montgomery
County District Attorney Brett Ligon.

The armed man tried to assault the woman in front of the officers but fortunately, the woman escaped,
Ligon told ABC13.

Fearing for their lives because he refused to put down the weapon, officers opened fire, killing him,
Ligon said, adding that as with all shootings involving police, this case will be referred to a grand jury.

This was the second shooting Monday night in which local authorities fatally shot and killed someone in
the area.

Earlier the day, officials with HPD, the Department of Public Safety, and the Harris County Sheriff's Office
fatally shot a person reported to be involved in a serial robbery.

According to HPD Chief Troy Finner, police had been watching the suspect since about 6pm because he
was believed to have been involved in multiple robberies across the Houston area.

His final crime that night was a liquor store robbery, where the clerks were held at gunpoint in Oak
Ridge North, in Montgomery County, Finner said according to ABC13.

Police tried to stop him as he left the store and gave him commands to drop his gun, officials said.

“When he didn't follow their orders, they shot him, again out of fear for their lives,” the police chief
said.

None of the police officers were injured in either of the shooting incidents.

inister’s life was in danger.

Addressing a press conference outside the jail, Gohar said that the party leaders were barred from
meeting the incarcerated PTI founder. He said that the authorities did not inform anybody about the
two-week ban on Khan’s meeting.

The authorities gave “terrorism” as a reason for the move, he added. Gohar demanded immediate
meeting and consultations with the incarcerated PTI founder. He also sought the details about Khan’s
health.

Khan, who was moved to the Adiala jail in September 2023 from Attock jail, is serving an accumulative
sentence of 31 years in various cases and has been engaging his lawyers, party leaders and family
members during his imprisonment as previously the authorities had allocated Monday and Thursdays
for meetings.
