MUSORO WENYAYA
● I think it’s important because we’ve talked about the renewal of the mind and that
the mind needs to be renewed
● Because you have a spirit, soul and body
● Who you are and what you do and your personality… it’s all coming from the soul
● And the soul is continuously formed into zvairi by the things that we take in
[especially the things that we continue/we regularly take in] (2 Corinthians 3:18)
● So, the things that we regularly take in… they become a part of you
2|Page
● Understand that you can also regularly/continue to take in wrong information and
those things also become a part of you… whether before you were saved/after. [we
encourage you to commune with the Holy Spirit]
● So the process of doing away with that part of you and replacing it with something
new is RENEWAL OF THE MIND
● Renewal of the mind inobuda zvakanaka if the new information is well explained [for
us with the Word of God]
● So that when the going gets tough, munhu haazotange kuti ah but zvandanga
ndimbori zvanga zviri nani.
● Renewal of the mind is an ongoing process and requires kuti maTopics abatwe-
batwe or aDiscusswe because IF A TOPIC IS NOT ADDRESSED, RENEWAL OF THE
MIND WILL NOT HAPPEN pertaining to that topic
● I believe that is one of the things The Holy Spirit helps us with on a more personal
level because at one point in time, tinogona takatora wrong information tikagara
nayo… not because we were ignorant but maybe because ndiyo yega information
yanga iripo
● Now He helps us to remove or edify that information so that it is in line with the
Word of God.
● So I appreciate that we have these meetings, that we go to church, reading your
bible and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
● How the things you take in affect the mind and the mind affects what the body does
● And we haven’t really been talking about the spirit (zvozonzi kuMission kwedu hatisi
vanhu vemweya)
● You are a spirit
● What is important is for us to be able to split these things (spirit, soul and body) so
that we don’t get things mixed up.
● UNDERSTAND THIS… we talk about renewal of the mind, we deal with reproof,
commandments and so on and so on.
3|Page
● These things are good and important BUT NONE OF THESE THINGS CAN GET YOU
SAVED
● None of these things can get a spirit which was born dead to enter into eternal life
i.e none of these things can get your spirit to be BORN AGAIN into God’s family.
● Your spirit is the one which is born again… Not your soul and your body
● Why am I saying spirit chete… because when we were talking about the mind and
body we pointed kuti they are imperfect and renewal of the mind is a continuous
process even till death.
● So does that mean atadza kuRenewer zvadhakwa
● NO… salvation had nothing to do with me but all to do with JESUS CHRIST
● The only thing you need to do to be saved is to believe in JESUS CHRIST (John 3:16)
Romans 10:8-9 - But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in
your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with
your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from
the dead, you will be saved
10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation.
● So let me explain how salvation has nothing to do with us except that we confess
and believe.
So there are two covenants we want to talk about: one was called The
Suzerain/Vassal Covenant and the other was The Parity Covenant.
Romans 6:16
Can also be called a greater/lesser covenant.
It was between a ruler of one greater kingdom with a ruler of a lesser/weaker
kingdom in whatever sense
You’re going to see that word vassal in your bible so musazopacheke cheke muchiti
maybe paida kunzi vessel – 2 Kings 24
So instead of just going to war and defeating the lesser kingdom… the two would
come to an agreement which would allow the lesser kingdom to continue
functioning
Maybe they would now be required to offer tribute or become a part of the new
kingdom or they would now be working for the suzerain’s kingdom but varimo mavo.
This Agreement was on an IF-Then basis. Kuti If the lesser kingdom failed to satisfy
zvavakawirirana neThe Greater vanobva varohwa and IF they follow instructions
Then The treaty is sustained
The parity covenant was made between kings with kingdoms of approximately equal
status
So It would be first proposed by one side, and then accepted by the other, before
being sealed by an oath and eating a meal together - Covenants (julianspriggs.co.uk)
The whole point being to create a bond/relationship (what’s mine is yours and
what’s yours is mine) – your friends are my friends and my enemies are your
enemies
One condition to sustain the covenant of Life… if you eat of the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil, you will surely die (if-then) …
I think tese tongozviziva… muchero wakazodyiwa and the covenant that guaranteed
life was broken
2 Corinthians 4:4
4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t
believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t
understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God
John 14:30
I will not speak with you much longer, for the ruler of the world (Satan) is coming.
And he has no claim on Me [no power over Me nor anything that he can use against
Me]
I don’t know if you’ve noticed but after mukaverenga maLaws anopihwa maIsraelites

Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life
and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your
descendants may live
Read Judges
1 John 4:17
Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of
judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.
2 Peter 1:3
as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness,
through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue
Which is why I think zvinonzi The relationship works at its best when you lay down
your whole life and everything you have in front of Him
Which is why vanhu vachiimba Surrender ALL… Surrender ALL… because He has
already given us all things pertaining to life and godliness
Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the

suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God,
might taste death for everyone.
(1 John 3:5) -You know that He appeared [in visible form as a man] in order to take
away sins; and in Him there is [absolutely] no sin [for He has neither the sin nature
nor has He committed sin or acts worthy of blame]
2 Corinthians 5:21 - For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we
might become the righteousness of God in Him.
1 Peter 2:24 - who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having
died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
He was also beaten and He carried our sicknesses and transgressions so that we
might be healed.
So He died for ALL your sins… ALL your sins.
He is not coming back to die again for your sins eNext Week. He said “It is Finished”.
Now… this isn’t a license to sin… kuti because we are forgiven so zvine basa rei
It should actually do the opposite
You should ask yourself why would a good, righteous God who hates sin go through
all this trouble to declare you righteous even though you sinned
All your life you’ve been working to try to get to heaven but one day you were told
that Jesus already did the work for you.
HE LOVES YOU
He loves you to the same extent that he hates sin
He punished and did away with sin once and for all on the cross and at the same
time established His relationship with you once and for all by making you righteous
because sin can no longer stain your new spirit… sin yabviswa ka apa
Peter calls it the incorruptible seed.
Jesus says 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall
anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is
greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. 30 I
and My Father are one.”
So the one question yasara is “If the covenant was between God Himself”. How do
we come in?

Because we were given covenants since Adam and we couldn’t keep them and
ended up separating ourselves from God our Father tichigara tichiisa maApplications

We were given one more covenant:
John 6:40 - And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son
and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Romans 10:9 - that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your
heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
You might have the question can I lose my righteousness / my salvation if I sin or
ndikaita blasphemy or if I stop believing because ukaverenga Amplified panonzi
Believe rinonyora mumaBrackets kuti to believe is to “adhere to” or to “hold on to”
which isn’t wrong
You might ask yourself what If I sin / stop holding on to Him / what if I commit the
unpardonable sin
Now, I am not encouraging you to sin nor to stop holding on to Jesus but I just want
to clear it up kuti tivharire confusion and uncertainty panze
Because zvinhu izvozvo zvinounza fear and fear brings with it torment
Torment hinders your growth in knowing Christ
Mwari vanoWorker Maths… vagara vaingoWorker Maths
And he knows because vakatanga kuDealer nevanhu kudhara… You are not the first
All these things fall under SIN.
Sin is going against The Word of God
And when you received atonement for sin… i.e Atonement for All the Times that you
go against the Word of God
Which is why we say salvation has nothing to do with your works… just believe
So you can’t lose zvinhu zvawakatopihwa ipapa
