The Safety Monitoring Device is integrated in the FST-2 circuit board (K20
.. K23) and enables car movements in the door zone with open car and
shaft doors. This makes approaching and relevelling with open doors
possible.
If the two functions “Relevelling with open doors” and “Approaching with
open doors” are not required, the Safety Monitoring Device is not activated
and the solenoid switches zone A & B are not required.
The Safety Monitoring Device can be activated in the FST menu with the
following parameters, if the zone switches A & B are installed and
connected:
Operating principle The relays K20, K21, K22 and K23 are released in the initial state.
If the car approaches the target floor, K21 (zone enabling) is activated by
the controller.
If the car reaches the door zone, the solenoid switches of zone A (S27) and
zone B (S28) trigger and activate the two relays K22 and K23. The relays
K22 and K23 issue the zone message to the controller (car is in door zone).
After the control software received the zone message, bypass relay K20 is
activated if required, this will make K21 release. This relay state (K20
activated, K21 released, K22 activated, K23 activated) bridges the door
contacts in the safety circuit and allows drive movement with the doors
open.
Checking the Safety The Safety Monitoring Device is designed so that malfunction of the two
Monitoring Device solenoid switches is detected and results in a system shutdown.
The two following error states must be checked after commissioning the
Safety Monitoring Device:
- Zone switch A (S27) is permanently open (disconnect FST X13.11)
- Zone switch A (S27) is permanently closed (bridge FST X13.11 with
FST X1.24)

5.3 MAIN MENU – Drive
Speed correction function After a successful calibration drive, the FST-2-Controller knows the
acceleration and deceleration characteristics for each drive speed. This
enables the controller to select the optimum drive speed for the distance to
be covered.
The parameter Speed correction function determines if the
maximum selected drive speed must be reached during each drive (travel
distance > acceleration distance + braking distance + crawling distance),
or if the drive has a speed correction function to optimise the drive curve
without reaching the maximum speed (travel distance > deceleration
distance + crawling distance).
Speed V1 is selected, because 2.6m (8ft 6") > 1m (3ft 3") + 1m (3ft 3") +
0.05m (2")
Speed V2 is selected, because 2.6m (8ft 6") > 2m (6ft 6")+ 0.05m (2")

Example: If a password is set to enable access to a part of the menu for e.g.
maintenance work, a password must be set for the other security levels as
well. Example:
Level 1: 1234
Level 2: 2222
Level 3: 0000
In this case, all parameters of the maintenance level can be accessed. The
parameters of the servicing level are protected with the password 2222.
Unlimited access is granted when entering the password 1234 .

6 Programmable inputs and outputs
General
Each input/output can be allocated a function on-site using the FST menu.
The signal direction of the inputs/outputs is divided into input and output
functions.
Input functions The input function is triggered if the state on the input/output changes from
inactive to active.
Output functions As soon as the condition for the output function is met, the state on the
input/output changes from inactive to active.
Flags The “Flag” function is a special function. A flag allows different controller
states to be linked with “OR”. The input/output is activated if at least one of
the required conditions is met.
Signals The function “signals” can link and issue controller states similar to the flag
function. It links door and car states with “AND”. The input/output is
activated if all of the required conditions are met.
Blocking floors Car and landing calls for any floor can be blocked and enabled using
programmable inputs. Each input can be assigned a combination of
landing and car calls.
FST-2_HB.EN12/05 147
6 Programmable inputs and outputs
User defined The FST-2-Controller enables the output of arbitrary error and event
error messages messages This means that any error message provided by the FST
software can be assigned a programmable input/output. This enables
forwarding of user defined error states to the outside world.
Programming
Programming of the inputs and outputs is done in the FST menu under
MAIN MENU - Configuration - I\O Configuration. The
following submenus are available:
Submenu Description
I\O ports The programmed function is assigned to the input/
output with the RAW register. Ports Port [0] ..
Port [79] are programmable
I\O flags Programming of up to 8 flags that represent an “OR”
link of different controller functions.
I\O error Select up to three error messages from the error list.
The selected error messages are stored as USER
ERROR [0] .. USER ERROR [2].
