Activity.Adviser: DR. RONALD CANDY S. LASATEN

Vocabulary plays a fundamental role in the learning process of students and is critical in

other realms of comprehension (Miller, 2022). However, recent studies and international

assessment suggest that students still lack proficiency in this area. Thus, it is imperative for

teachers to facilitate various vocabulary building exercises through the use of innovative tools

and applications. The core objective of this research is to improve the vocabulary skills of Grade

10 students through iLearn-Activity (Interactive Learning Activity).

The study used a 30-item researcher made test for the pretest and posttest as the data

gathering tools administered to 15 Grade 10 students of Balatong Integrated School for school

year 2021 – 2022. For the data analysis, the researcher employed a simple mean and dependent t-

test. The data analysis shown that students’ mean post test score (26.4) in vocabulary post-test

was higher than their mean pretest score (22.2667).

This increase was statistically significant with a t-value of -6.323 and a p-value of 0.000*.

Hence, the difference is significant at 0.001 level. Consequently, this result implies that there

was a significant improvement of the vocabulary skills of students after integrating iLearn-

Activity. The study concluded that the use of iLearn-Activity helped students improve their

vocabulary skills. Thus, it is highly recommended that the intervention of iLearn-Activity be

adopted and applied in teaching.
