Coronavirus (COVID-19)

What is Coronavirus? Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is an infectious disease caused by a

newly discovered coronavirus. Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus suffer from mild to

moderate respiratory illnesses and can recover without special treatment. The elderly and people with

underlying medical problems such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and

cancer are more likely to have serious illnesses.

Risk of the Coronavirus: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), “the older you

are, the more at risk you are from coronavirus”. WHO also warned young people not to view

themselves as "invincible". There are also some chances young people will get affected by the

coronavirus. By looking at the affected rate of different ages, WHO also says that "although the

evidence we have suggests that those over 60 are at highest risk, young people, including children,

have died".

How disease spread among the population? The virus is thought to spread mainly from

person-to-person. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly

be inhaled into the lungs. A person can also get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object with a

virus and then touching his mouth, nose or eyes.

How preventative measures help defend against infection? Wash your hands frequently:

Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on

your hands. Maintain social distancing: When someone coughs or sneezes, they spray small droplets

from their nose or mouth that may contain the virus. If the distance is too close, if the person who has

cough has a disease, they can inhale droplets including the COVID-19 virus. Avoid touching eyes,

nose and mouth: Hands touch many surfaces and may absorb the virus. Once contaminated, the hands
can spread the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. The virus can enter your body from there and make

you sick.

My own creative way to prevent disease: Couples can kiss with masks on. This way can

prevent the virus from spreading.

Conclusion: There’s currently, no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease (covid-19). So, stay

away from the crowd, wear masks and hope this disease will stop spreading in the world.
