 Introduction

The United Arab Emirates in general and Abu Dhabi in specific has focused on safety for the past
years. One of the main initiatives that have been given great focus is the centennial plan 2071
which hopes to make the UAE the best country in the world in 2071. One of the four main
components of the plan is making it a happy and cohesive country. Starting from this angle is
when we got the idea of helping in making the plan to become successful. e. Building an app that
helps to reduce the complexity of reporting crime by ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of
users could play a non-negligible role in fulfilling the initiative. Our App is designed to make the
process of reporting crimes to the police department as smooth as possible.
 Business Objectives
The objective of this app is to provide a simple and confidential way of reporting crimes in the
vicinity of Abu Dhabi. We are aiming to achieve a zero un-reported crime rate in the city. The
application will combine the sophisticated services of mobile crowdsensing computing and
encryption technologies. Furthermore, it will provide an efficient way of reducing the number of
visitors to the police department during the pandemic and post-pandemic.
 Current situation
Abu Dhabi ranked first among 431 cities worldwide in terms of protection with a score of 88.46
per cent. According to the UAE and Crime report, in 2019 major crimes include pickpocketing,
petty theft, and the large presence of scams occurring in Abu Dhabi. In the last 4 years, the crime
rate in Abu has increased 34.85 per cent, which is slightly less compared to other states in UAE.
Using dangerous weapons and assaulting is very low, even safety walking alone during night-
time is up to 90 per cent.
 Critical Assumption
There are some assumptions that we’ve made when planning for this application. The main one
being that the police are willing to start controlling the city with the help of this type of
technology (we have presented ourselves as the IT department inside the police force throughout
the project). The other assumption that we’ve made is that people will co-operate with the police
and will be willing to help report the crime cases. The final assumption that we’ve made is that
we don’t have any competitors as we will be part of the police. When it comes to the constraints,
it is possible that we might face some resistance from uneducated people and people with less
legal knowledge when initializing the service. Another constraint that we might face is the
sensitive nature of the police force and how every move that we will make and every extra
resource that we will ask will be questioned a lot and analyzed thoroughly which might drag the
speed of developing the app.

 Analysis of options
Do nothing: by doing nothing we may save the cost and time we are proposing to find a solution,
but we are trading it with the safety of citizens and the government's initiative. •Develop a crime
reporting app: we can develop a crime reporting app that utilizes the cooperation of society by
taking advantage of Mobile Crowdsensing (MCS) to combat crime alongside the justice
department.
• Strengthen and supply the police department to strongly combat crime: by doing so, a large
sum of money could go to waste and we could have a respectable and effective police
department. After critical analysis and research, we come to a conclusion that the second choice,
developing a crime reporting app, is the most logical and justified solution to solve the given
problem.

Stakeholder register

A stakeholder register is a project document that has information about the project stakeholders. It
identifies the people, groups, and organizations that have any interest in the work and the outcome.
You can find the following information on a stakeholder register:
Names, Titles, Roles, Interests, Power, Requirements, Expectations and Type of influence.

Project Millstone
A milestone is a marker in a project that signifies a change or stage in development. Milestones make it
easier to keep projects on track by calling out major events, dates, decisions, and deliverables. Examples
of project milestones we include in our plan are Start and end dates for project phases, Key deliveries
Client and stakeholder approvals, Important meetings and presentations and Key dates or outages that
may impact your timeline.

Financial Analysis
Financial analysis is the process of evaluating businesses, projects, budgets, and other finance-related
transactions to determine their performance and suitability. Typically, financial analysis is used to analyse
whether an entity is stable, solvent, liquid, or profitable enough to warrant a monetary investment.
The return on investment is the percentage that an investment is expected to earn. The calculation
is: ROI = (Benefit - Cost) / Cost. Therefore, our ROI is expected to be 7.20%.
Net present value (NPV) is a method used to determine the current value of all future cash flows
generated by a project, including the initial capital investment. So, our project NPV has an amount of
36940 AED with a payback period of 4 years.
