Re : COVID TESTING FOR ADMISSIONS

Greetings!!!

The incidence rate of COVID 19 cases for the first quarter of 2021 has seen a steady rise. Cavite has been
recorded as one of the highest areas of COVID 19, alongside Quezon City and Manila. In addition,
various COVID19 strains have been detected that may produce faster spread and higher infectivfty.
The following protocols will be enforced for admitted patients.

1. All patients that will be admitted must undergo a COVID19 test (i.e RT-PCR, Rapid Antigen, Rapid
Antibody)
2. The "One Patient, One Watcher" policy is strictly enforced. The designated watcher must
undergo a Rapid Antigen test or RT PCR.
3. All patients with pulmonary/respiratory symptoms whether medical/surgical must undergo RT-
PCR test. Patient will be admitted at the isolation ward (3rd floor) while awaiting test results.
These patients will be transferred to a regular room once RT-PCR test is negative.
4. All major elective surgical/obstetrical/gynecological cases must undergo RTPCR test. OPD and
minor surgical cases may undergo Rapid antigen test.
5. All cases needing emergency surgery (i.e. procedures <8 hours from admission) may undergo
Rapid antigen test.
6. All Obstetric cases 37 weeks and above must have an RT-PCR test. Premature cases (i.e less than
37 weeks AOG) may undergo hipid Antigen test. RT-PCR test must still be done.
7. A Rapid Antigen test is only valid for 24 hours. An RT-PCR test is valid for one week.

We would like to protect our medical, allied and ancillary staff from getting infected by the virus. Even if
the vaccination program is underway, it will still take time before herd immunity is achieved. We would
also like to protect other individuals coming into the hospital that avail of hospital services.

We encourage all clinicians to cooperate, support and follow protocols set by the institution.
Thank you very much. And may you all stay safe and healthy.
