These topics are often inter- related because the relationship between employer and employee is bound by state and federal laws governing the employment relationship and in unionized environments can also be bound by collective bargaining agreements. First, let's define and differentiate between what we mean by employee relations and labor relations, Next, we will examine ethical behavior in the workplace and why it is so important in the employment relationship. Finally, we'll look at some contemporary issues relating to employee and labor relations. Employee relations includes a broad definition that traditionally addresses the individua collective) relationship between employee(s) and employer, with priority given to the inc opposed to the collective relationship of employees and employer.
