Sample I-130 Checklist

USCIS has indicated that it may deny an application submitted without the required
documentation. The denial may lead to your clients being placed under removal proceedings!

I-130 - Petitioner

Did you answer each question?


Have you reviewed the petition for accuracy?
Did you review, date, and sign the petition?
Did the petitioner sign the petition?
Did you enclose the correct filing fee?
Did you submit proof of the petitioner’s LPR status (copy of alien card, front and back
or
I-551 stamp in passport) OR proof of the petitioner’s USC status (copy of U.S. birth
certificate, U.S. passport, naturalization certificate)?
Did you submit a copy of all relevant personal documents, such as marriage certificates,
birth certificates, proof of termination of prior marriages etc. ?
Did you submit any other required supporting evidence, such as a Good Faith Marriage
Exemption Waiver and related proceedings documents, for example?
Did you submit a signed and dated G-28?
Have you included two passport style color photos of the Petitioner?
Have you checked to be sure that the forms you are submitting are the most up to date
forms?

I-130A - Beneficiary
 Did you answer each question?
 Have you reviewed the I-130 and the I-130A for accuracy?
 Did you review, date, and sign the I-130A?
 Did the beneficiary review, date, and sign the I-130A?
 Did you include two passport style color photos of yourself?
 Have you checked to be sure that the forms you are submitting are the most up to date
forms?
