1. What is a Third World Country? Why does Philippines belongs to a Third World
Country?
The general definition of the Third World Country can be traced back to the
history that nations positioned as neutral and independent during the cold war
were considered as Third World Countries, and normally these countries are
defined by high poverty rates, lack of resources, unstable financial standing. And
Philippines considered belong to Third World Country because of the corruption
problem, unemployment, high level of crimes, and high poverty rates that hinder
this country to be part of the developed countries.

2. What are the countries belonging to the Rich North? What are the characteristics
that make them part of that country? How does the country belongs to it?
The Rich North represent the economically developed societies of
Europe, North America, Australia, Israel, South Africa, amongst others.
Rich North countries are wealthy, technologically advanced, politically
stable and aging as their societies tend towards zero population growth.
They are belong to the Rich North because of their high economic status
and the value of their money.

1. WHY the countries formed an organization which is called ASEAN?


What is their purpose and goals?
Countries formed an organization which called ASEAN to create a common front
against the spread of communism and promote political, economic, and social stability amid
rising tensions in the Asia. ASEAN chief’s goals or purpose Centre on economic
cooperation, the promotion of trade among ASEAN countries and between ASEAN members
and the rest of the world, and programs for joint research and technical cooperation among
member governments.
2. HOW ASEAN affects in every countries in terms of security, economical, socio-cultural,
and political?
ASEAN affects in every countries in terms of security-political through the
Community pledge to rely exclusively on peaceful processes in the settlement
of intra-regional differences and regard their security as fundamentally linked
to one another and bound by geographic location. In terms of economical,
fastest growing regions in the world came to crashing end because of the
financial crisis that hit the region in the second half of the year. ASEAN
economic growth in 1998 is predicted to be the lowest in the last three
decades. SOCIO-CULTURAL is all about realizing the full potential of ASEAN
citizens a committed, participative, and socially responsible community for the

development and environmental protection.
