Whatever the weather

Millie’s mum was driving the car to her best friend’s house.
They met for the first time when they were babies

Keisha lived near Millie’s house.

The journey wasn’t too long.

They arrived at her home to play

together in less than an hour.

Both mums laughed because they

were very good friends.
They got on well and liked being
together.
The mums went into the kitchen to catch up as the girls went upstairs.
-You have to see my room, said Keisha.
Her new bedroom was huge but was intidy. There were boxes and clothes eveywhere.
One wall was covered with wall paper, while the other three were white.

I found this photo album, said Keisha.

They sat on the bed and looked at
Keisha’s photos.

In the picture Millie was wearing a pair of

bright sunglasses and Keisha was wearing a
grreen swimsuit.
On the next page, there were
photographs from their camping
trip last year. Both girls were
wearing wellies covered with mud.
Although it was raining all the
weekend, they didn’t stop smiling.

Although they went camping on Spring, It was very

cold, so they drank hot chocolate , made on their
campfire.
It was difficult to keep the fire alight in all that rain!
said Keisha.

The third page made them smile. There were lots of photos
from when it snowed two years ago.
They didn’t go to school because of the snow, so both girls went
sledging with their dads.

They didn’t remember the cold, just that they made a

snowman and threw snowballs at their dads.
They were wearing warm clothes: coats, woolly hats,
gloves and thick socks.
That was the best day ever!
When Keisha turned the page, they found funny
photos. The pictures were of the day they flew
kites. Well, they tried to fly kites. The wind was
very strong. Itwas hard to stand up straight.

They were wearing comfy woollen jumpers

and jeans to keep them warm enough.
Their cheeks were red from the strong wind.
“It was so fun when your kite got stuck in the
tree! said Keisha.

The last photograph was from a few

weeks ago. The girls

There were some clouds in the sky.
