1 OUTLINE OF KPT-300LMC

KPT-300LMC is the software to authenticate PC software licenses (Software Level Licenses and Software Upgrade
Licenses) and transceiver functions licenses (Radio Feature Licenses) including upgrades.

1.1 Main Functions of KPT-300LMC

0 License Authentication of PC Software

Software Level Licenses and the Software Upgrade Licenses for FPU (KPG-xx) and PC software (KAS-xx) etc. can be
authenticated. Also, various authentication of PC software can be canceled.

0 License Authentication for Transceiver Functions

Radio Feature Licenses can be authenticated.
The authentication history of License Keys for Radio Feature Licenses can be viewed (only while online). Also, the
authentication of a Radio Feature License can be canceled (only while online).

0 Available While Online or Offline

Various authentication can be conducted while online. Even if the network environment is offline, authentication can be
conducted by reading a file already authenticated on an online PC.

0 Offline Authentication by Using the USB License Storage (USB Offline Authentication)
By using the USB License Storage where the authentication information of a Radio Feature License is recorded, the
Radio Feature License can be authenticated for multiple transceivers while offline without direct communication with
License Management Server. To execute offline authentication by using the USB License Storage, the USB License
Storage needs to be purchased from JVCKENWOOD or an agency.

0 User Registration
For user registration (Account Registration Key registration), KPT-300LMC must be started while online. For
authenticating Radio Feature Licenses, user registration is required.
If Software Level Licenses or Software Upgrade Licenses is only used, user registration is not necessary. Also, if only
offline mode is used, user registration is not necessary.
User registration can be done by entering an Account Registration Key from the menu of KPT-300LMC. User Registration
needs to be done for each PC using KPT-300LMC. (Refer to Applying for Account Registration Key on page 52,
Registering Account Registration Key on page 52.)

0 Displaying and Saving a Device ID

The Device ID required for offline authentication can be displayed and saved in a file.
By sending the Device ID of an offline PC to an online PC, License Management Server can create an Authentication
File of a License Key with the Device ID of the offline PC.
The Device ID is required for authenticating Software Level Licenses or Software Upgrade Licenses.

0 Log Output
Operation results such as authentication and canceling authentication of KPT-300LMC can be automatically saved as a
log file in CSV format.

1.2 Configuration of the Authentication System

1.2 Configuration of the Authentication System

By connecting to License Management Server managed by JVCKENWOOD via an IP network, KPT-300LMC can
authenticate various licenses. Also, KPT-300LMC can authenticate various licenses even though it is not connected to the
IP network.

Configuration of PC Software Authentication System

The following is the procedure to authenticate Software Level Licenses and Software Upgrade Licenses while online or
offline. Also, authentication of the various PC software licenses can be canceled. Only one PC is allowed to use the Software
Level License per license.
For authenticating PC software, a License Key for the corresponding product is required. If there is no License Key, contact
the place of purchase of PC software.

Note
0 To use KPT-300LMC, Windows needs to be logged on as a user having administrative privileges.
0 Be careful because use in a virtual environment is not supported.

6 ACTIVATING THE TRANSCEIVER FUNCTIONS

This chapter explains the steps to register the Account Registration Key required for the use of Radio Feature Licenses and
to activate the transceiver functions by using the KPT-300LMC being used.

6.1 Applying for Account Registration Key

An Account Registration Key is required for authenticating a Radio Feature License. Contact support representatives at
JVCKENWOOD to obtain an Account Registration Key.
For authenticating the Radio Feature License using multiple PCs, obtain the same number of Account Registration Key as
the PCs, and then the Account Registration Key must be registered per PC which uses KPT-300LMC. On a PC with a
registered Account Registration Key, the Radio Feature License can be authenticated and the License Keys and
authentication history can be shared and viewed.

6.2 Registering Account Registration Key

For authenticating a Radio Feature License, user registration using an Account Registration Key is required.
The following is the procedure to register an Account Registration Key while online.

1 Place KPT-300LMC in Online Mode.

Refer to Switching Modes on page 16.

Managing If an Account Registration Key Is Leaked

CAUTION
An Account Registration Key is the important code to manage user information. Manage Account Registration
Keys which enable additional PC registration (which have remaining licenses) strictly to prevent leakage.

This section describes how to manage if an Account Registration Key is leaked and improperly used.
In the following cases, the Account Registration Key may be improperly registered. Contact and ask support representatives
at JVCKENWOOD to investigate and change the security setting of the Account Registration Key.
0 If an unknown user information is already registered when registering an Account Registration Key on a first PC.
0 If an additional Account Registration Key cannot be registered on a second or subsequent PCs in spite of the possession
of Account Registration Key for multiple PCs.
0 If the number of Radio Feature Licenses associated with Account Registration Key is reduced insidiously.
0 If a Radio Feature License associated with an Account Registration Key is authenticated on an unknown terminal.

Precautions for USB Offline Authentication

0 About the restriction of KPT-300LMC available for use

The USB License Storage can be used with only 1 Account Registration Key.
By connecting the USB License Storage purchased from JVCKENWOOD or an agency to the online PC, and executing
the authentication for License Management Server by using KPT-300LMC on the online PC, the information related to
the Account Registration Key of KPT-300LMC is written to the USB License Storage together with the authentication
information. The USB License Storage written with the information related to the Account Registration Key of
KPT-300LMC cannot be used by the KPT-300LMC having a different Account Registration Key.
For example, if the USB License Storage for Account Registration Key A is connected to a KPT-300LMC having Account
Registration Key B, an error message box appears and the USB License Storage cannot be used.
The USB License Storage using any Account Registration Key can be used on the offline PC.
0 About the restriction of the USB License Storage available for use
Multiple USB License Storage cannot be used for a single PC at the same time.
If multiple USB License Storage are connected to a single PC, KPT-300LMC may not behave properly.
0 About the restriction of the number of various License Keys available for use
Up to 100 types of Radio License Keys can be recorded in the USB License Storage. If authenticating 101 or more types
of Radio License Keys, an error message box appears and the Radio License Key cannot be authenticated.
0 About the restriction of the authentication information of each Radio License Key
Up to 1,000 pieces of information can be authenticated for 1 Radio License Key. If authenticating 1,001 or more pieces
of information, an error message box appears and the information cannot be authenticated.
