On Crude oil tankers, a notice should be prominently displayed on the Bridge and in the
cargo and engine control rooms, and on the notice boards of ships which have crude oil
washing systems fitted.

The following text is suggested:

THE TANK WASHING LINES ON THIS SHIP MAY CONTAIN CRUDE OIL. VALVES MUST NOT BE
OPERATED BY UNAUTHORISED PERSONNEL.
