    Scanning

     Question Race - Make the students race in answering the questions


     Find a word – read the word aloud and let students find the word

    Skimming - find the main idea

     Discuss about what they already know and what they think they will learn

     Give the 6W questions


     Ask what the article is about in one word

    Context Clues

     Choose a made up word. Use sentences that are rich with context
