MUTUAL AID 1
How do bodies appear and interact in different
examples of mutual aid?
Bodies appear and interact in mutual aid through
givings direct physical assistance to those that are in
need, gathering together in community spaces to
coordinate efforts, offering healthcare and other
things. Also thrue sharing necessary resources among
community members, and participating collectively
in actions that aim to create a positive change.

Why is mutual aid considered to be anti-

hierarchical?
Mutual aid is considered as anti-hierarchical because
who participate is completely voluntary rather than
told on upon people. Also mutual aid groups tend to
have a horizontal organizational where there is no
top-down leadership like we are used to. There is
also a big focus oon inclusivity within mutual aid,
seeking to leave no one's needs unaddressed
regardless of their status within societey.

What are the similarities between #Occupy movements and mutual aid in 2020?
What is different? Who benefits from it and how?
Both the #Occupy movements and 2020 mutual aid efforts represented initiatives driven more by
ordinary citizens than established institutions or organizations. They also both emerged largely in
response to perceived social and economic injustices. However #Occupy is a lot more centered
on protests and changing underlying political thing and mutual aid in 2020 focused more on
immediate and also emergency assistance and meeting essential community needs like food,
shelter, and healthcare. So mutual aid tended to be more direct to bene t the disadvantaged
members of society that are needing support.
