2. What is the summary of
journal/article about?
This journal is about the analysis of poverty levels in Indonesia. The author uses cross section data
from 2017 and uses multivariate analysis methods, namely non-hierarchical and hierarchical cluster
analysis. The results of the analysis show that poverty at the provincial level is grouped into 3
groups.
■ Group 1 is the provinces of East Nusa Tenggara, West Papua and Papua.
■ Group 2 is Aceh, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, Lampung, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, West
Nusa Tenggara,Central Sulawesi,Southeast Sulawesi,Gorontalo,West Sulawesi & Maluku.
■ Group 3 consists of North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, Kep. Bangka Belitung, Kep. Riau,
DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, Bali, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South

The main components of the poverty analysis system in Indonesia are: Poverty Gap Index (P1): This
index shows how much money is spent on the poor. Index Headcount/P0: Displays the number of
people in the poverty category. In this analysis, several statistics for 2017 were used, including
poverty, poverty, poverty rate and number of poor people. The method used is multivariate
analysis, which is different from hierarchical analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis. Based on the
results of the analysis, poverty at the regional level is divided into three groups: Group 1, East Nusa
Tenggara, West Papua and Papua regions; Group 2 covers the regions of Aceh, South Sumatra,
Bengkulu, Lampung, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java. , West Nusa Tenggara, Central Sulawesi,
Southeast Sulawesi, Gorontalo, West Sulawesi and Maluku, the third group is North Sumatra, West
Sulawesi Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, Kep. Bangka Belitung Islands Kep, Riau Province, DKI Jakarta, West

■ The author is trying to solve the problem of poverty in Indonesia by categorizing

study uses data on poverty severity index, poverty gap index, and headcount index, and

West Sulawesi, which has a fairly high poverty rate. Apart from that, it is also noted that economic
growth in several regions still tends to decrease every year, although it is still on a small scale.
