Module Learning Outcome:
✓ To be able to maintain a positive environment
for employees ( health care providers ) and
clients.
(Elizabeth Teisberg 1, 2020)
➢A normative set of standards that assists us (patients,
physicians, policy makers, and other stakeholders ) in
evaluating acts or situations and has an impact on the decision-
making process.
➢The American Heart Association (AHA) stresses that value is an
important part of good medical care, along with costs.
• includes good results in the patient's outcome,
• safety, and
• satisfaction at a total cost that is reasonable and affordable.
(ELIZABETHVANDEWALLE, 2013)
➢The provision of a basic level of medical care is made
available to individuals who are unable to pay for their own
medical care.
➢ The provision of a "decent minimum" of care and services
is guaranteed to them as a result of this measure.
➢The individual is responsible for paying for any further
treatment that exceeds this minimum, or they may choose
to pay for it through their own medical insurance.
(ELIZABETHVANDEWALLE, 2013)
➢1 Timothy 6 speaks directly to what to do with wealth
in verses 17-19:
• appears to endorse the concept of taxation and
• resource allocation for the purpose of financing public
healthcare,
• as proposed in the two-tiered system.
✓ healthcare needs of the lower socioeconomic class
are being sufficiently met,
✓ obligation to support the less privileged.
1. What does "Allocation of Resources" mean?
➢The first concept is that the way health care resources are used should make people healthier.
➢That is, money spent on health care should be used to cure diseases, ease suffering and pain,
protect the public's health, and/or fund study that could lead to better health.

2.In what ways do you think resources are allocated?

➢ When resources are allocated well,
• they are used based on what is actually available, not what is written down.
• Instead of figuring out how many hours a full-time worker puts in each week, you might look
at their possible sick days, leisure time, and other work-related tasks that they need to
complete.
3. What are some ways to divide up resources? How to Give Project Resources to Different People?
a) Know What You Want to Do. The scope of the job you're working on must be known before
you can assign or manage your resources.
b) Find the resources you need.
c) Don't put things off.
d) Think about the whole picture.
e) Know how your resources depend on each other.
f) Keep track of time.
g) Use your tools.
h) Don't give out too many.
4. Why is it important to divide up resources?
a) helps project managers put together the best team for the job and get the most work done.
b) the most important thing for any business is to finish projects on time and on price.
c) And every project that goes well has the most valuable thing a business has: its people.

5. Why is it important to divide up resources?

➢ Allocating resources is an important part of project management because:
a) it helps you plan and get ready to carry out a project or reach a goal. And
b) it helps plan resources ahead of time and gives an overview of the project team's work.
6. What are the three choices about how to divide up the resources?
a) When we talk about how to spend money on healthcare, we need to
think about three different levels of decision-making such as:

Level 1:- is about deciding how to spend money on healthcare versus

other social needs.
Level 2: - Allocating resources in the health care field.
Level 3: - Giving each patient the tools they need.
7. What are some problems that people in the Philippines have getting health
care?
a) The country has a high birth rate and a high death rate for mothers and
babies.
b) Some people have trouble with this because they can't get this basic
care as easily as others or because their health is generally bad.
c) There are a lot of Filipinos who get sick with things like HIV/AIDS,
Tuberculosis, Dengue, and Malaria.
8. What are the most important problems in healthcare today when it comes to
getting care?
a) The biggest problems that make it hard for patients to get medical care
i. Appointments and office hours are limited.
ii. Problems with geography and a lack of doctors.
iii. Problems with transportation.
iv. Not enough information about care places.
v. Health barriers caused by social factors.
9. What is the biggest problem with getting health care?
a) Not having enough health insurance is one of the biggest obstacles to
getting medical care, and
b) the fact that coverage isn't given to everyone equally makes health gaps
worse.

10. How easy is it to get medical care in the Philippines?

a) The Philippines still has problems with unequal access to medical care,
even though they have national healthcare.
• Because of this, the quality of public health care in the Philippines
ranges from very good in cities to very poor in the countryside.
Reflective questions:

1. What are the words and phrases that seem relevant as you were
listening and why?
2. What are your learnings about the topic?
3. How do you plan to apply the learning and insights that you have for
today?
