1. Why is regional cooperation important?

Regional cooperation offers an alternative way to answer the disadvantages of being a


small nation. For example, by pooling resources or combining markets countries/nations
then can effectively utilize their resources that will lead to economic stability. Also,
having a regional cooperation will assure one’s country/nation a helping hand in times of
severe devastation caused by calamities and other kinds of problems.

2. What makes Asian Regional cooperation connected?

There are many things that keeps the Asian Regional cooperation connected, trade and
peace for example. Since having a regional cooperation, a participant country then can
establish stable source of income by trading their resources or products to other countries.
Also, this regional cooperation makes a sense of safety since it is expected that
participants of Asian regional cooperation would not dare to cause conflict that would
lead to war.

3. What are the advantages and disadvantages of regional cooperation?

Most of the advantages of having regional cooperation have already been mentioned from
previous answers like economic stability, peace, and development. However, even though
regional cooperation seems to be a great practice it also has some disadvantages like
when deciding a course of action for a particular problem, leaders of states/countries
would surely put their interest first and this would lead to delay of reaching an agreement.
Poor countries or the developing countries may also face difficulties since they might be
taken advantage off of other countries.

4. How regionalism can benefit Asia?

Regionalism can benefit Asia in various of ways, first is that by regionalism the diverse
economies of different countries are linked to increase productivity and sustain the
region’s growth. Second, by having connected market the risks are then shared so dealing
with it becomes easier since many people would work on it. Third, pool the region’s
assets to make more resources available for investment and development.

5. How Asian regionalism can benefit the world?

Asian regionalism can help to sustain global economic progress not just itself. Having
secure connections and partnerships then lead to global competition that would inspire
and generate new ideas that will boost economic growth and raise incomes across the
world. This will then lead to further development in terms of technology, economy,
heath, education and many more.
