Introduction

Apart from (‫ )کے عالوہ‬communicating the main purpose of the

presentation, there are various method, techniques and factors which we
need to adapt and consider during the delivery of our message. We need to
include these things in our skills. These things are: audience analysis,
preparation of outline, organization of material and nuances of delivery
(kinesics, proxemics, paralinguistics and chronemics).
Importance
Non-verbal communication is concerned with ( ‫)سے متعلقہ ہے‬
kinesics (body movements), proxemics (space), paralinguistics (vocal
features) and chronemics (time management). We need to know and focus on
these features during our oral communication.
Nuances of Delivery
1. Kinesics
It is the study of body movements during the conversation. It includes the
study of sitting posture, standing posture, gestures (‫ )اشارے‬facial expressions
and eye-contacts. We should keep in mind these things because people first
look at us and then they listen to us.

2. Proxemics
It is the study of physical space in interpersonal relations. The people’s
manner of using this space tells us a lot about them. Edward Hall has divided
this space into four zones: personal zone, intimate (‫ )قریبی‬zone, social zone and
public zone.

3. Paralinguistics
Paralinguistics features are the non-verbal cues (hints) (‫ )اشارے‬that give
urgency to our voice. They are related to different conditions of our voice.
They include: quality, pace, pitch, volume, articulation ( ‫)الفاظ کی ادائیگی‬,
pronunciation (‫)تلفظ‬, pauses (‫ )وقفے‬and voice modulation (‫وسیلہ‬/‫)ذریعہ‬.

4. Chronemics
It is the study of how the human beings communicate with one another during
a specific time. During our presentation, we should try to use our time more
effectively. Our good timing is very important for us. Staying within the time
limit is a mark of courtesy (‫ )شائستگی‬and professionalism.
