Activity/Output Title: Task 4: The ICT in Differentiated Instruction

The Socratic Plenary

“Questions are the only defensible form of teaching.” (Socrates)
Summarize what you know, think or feel based on today’s topic of ICT on Differentiated Instruction
What have you learnt?

The concept of 'good' questions refers to inquiries that go beyond simple recall of information
and instead prompt individuals to engage in deeper thinking processes. These questions are designed
to encourage higher-order cognitive skills.
The importance of questioning, as advocated by Socrates, serves as a cornerstone in educational
philosophy. The use of Socratic questions aligns with the goal of developing active, independent
learners. By encouraging students to engage in higher-order thinking processes, educators empower
them to become critical thinkers who can apply their knowledge to various situations, fostering a
deeper and more comprehensive approach to learning.
What is the difference between learning plan and lesson plan?
(Could you explain further?)
A learning plan is a comprehensive guide that outlines the overall goals and objectives for an
extended period, such as a semester or a school year. On the other hand, a lesson plan is a more
detailed, short-term instructional document that breaks down the learning objectives into smaller,
manageable units for a specific class session. Both plans work together to ensure that the curriculum is
covered effectively and that students achieve the desired learning outcomes.
What is the difference between inclusion and integration? How would it be possible for CBLE?(Is this always the
case?)
Integration involves bringing individuals with diverse needs into existing structures whils inclusion strives for
active participation and full engagement. When applied to CBLE, an inclusive approach ensures that all , all students
would have access to the same digital resources and tools. Integration in a computer-based learning environment could
involve incorporating students with special needs into mainstream digital learning platforms alongside their peers..
What is the role of teachers in Differentiated Instruction? How would you do it on your lesson in your field of
specialization?(Notion and implementation)
The role of teachers in Differentiated Instruction is crucial, as they need to adapt their teaching
methods, content, and assessment strategies to meet the individual needs of each student.
The teacher should understand student diversity and use varied instructional strategies. He/ she must know how to
group students based on their learning needs and must prepare Individualized Learning Plans .Flexibility is key to
Differentiated Instruction.

What is your viewpoint of making this DI effective in the classroom?

(Your viewpoints and perspectives.)
Making DI effective in the classroom holds several important benefits. It addresses diverse learning styles. DI
enables teachers to provide personalized learning experiences based on students' readiness, interests, and learning
profiles. It ensures that all students, regardless of their abilities or background, have access to appropriate and
challenging learning experiences.
DI helps maintain student interest and enthusiasm for learning. It increases the likelihood of student success.
Students are more likely to achieve academic growth when instruction is aligned with their individual strengths and
challenges.
Differentiating instruction encourages students to think critically, solve problems, and apply their knowledge in
different contexts.
How significant is the DI in culture-based integration in the present teaching and learning process?
(Implication and probing.)
Differentiated Instruction plays a crucial role in culture-based integration, offering educators a framework to
create inclusive, culturally relevant, and engaging learning experiences. Probing the implications involves exploring
strategies for effective cultural integration, addressing educational disparities, and promoting cultural sensitivity in both
instruction and assessment. Additionally, fostering collaboration and expanding the cultural perspective beyond the
classroom are essential aspects to consider in the ongoing evolution of education.

Why DI is the solution in achieving education 4.0?

(Opinion and assumption)
Differentiated Instruction is a solution in achieving Education 4.0 because it aligns with the core principles of
personalized learning, technology integration, skill development, cultural awareness, adaptability, and student-centered
education that characterize the fourth industrial revolution's impact on the educational landscape.
