Proposed Project LEARN HUB-Inclusive education for all

Background In 2015, all nations in the United Nations Organisation adopted the 2030 Agenda for
Sustainable Development. This concentrates on 17 goals that include 167 targets that
are necessary for the sustainment of Human life. In that, goal no.4 speaks of ensuring
inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong opportunities for all.
A study in 104 countries reveals that by 2030, around 84 million children will be out of
school, and only 1 in 6 countries will be able to achieve the Universal secondary school
completion target. Furthermore, Low, and middle-income countries face a $100 billion
funding gap to reach their education targets. These factors hinder the SDG target 4.3
By 2030, ensure equal access for all women and men to affordable and quality
technical, vocational, and tertiary education, including university.

Business Need/ In line with the above needs, we have come up with an online educational platform
Opportunity that caters to achieving the target mentioned above by 2030. The content will be
delivered utilizing low-cost software development methods with high-quality content.
As a trial basis, we have selected the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge region to launch
this platform, as the city has the right mix of international students and professionals
who have arrived in search of quality education.

Also, this will benefit students and professionals from that region travelling to other
countries for quality education. Here, they can get the same quality of education at a
fraction of the cost compared to what they will spend for their education.

From the organizational point of view, this will eliminate the need for Classrooms and
reduce the need for having multiple Teachers. Another advantage is that we can tailor
the content to each consumer based on their reviews. Finally, the reduced cost will
help bring in more people, thus increasing revenue.

Options Option 1: Develop a learning website.

 Learnings will be available only on the website.

Option 2: Develop an application for smartphones only.

 Learnings can be accessed through smartphones only.

Option 3: Develop a learning website and an application that is accessible on all

electronic platforms.
 Learnings will be available on all platforms: websites, smartphones, Desktops,
Smart TV’s.

Cost-Benefit Analysis
Option 1: Develop a learning website only.
 Cost: $750,000
 Benefits:
1. More information can be made available on the screen.
 2. Easy to search for the required content.
3. Wide number of compatible devices to access the content.

Option 2: Develop an application for smartphones only

 Cost: $500,000
 Benefits:
1. The software development time will be minimal.
2. Minimal resources required for maintenance.
3. Easy to connect as alerts and new updates can be delivered through push notifications.
4. Can be completed with the most minor budget compared to all the other options.

Option 3: Develop a learning website and an application that is accessible on all electronic platforms.
 Cost: $1,000,000
 Benefits:
1. More freedom for the consumer to access the content.
2. It will enable people to access from remote areas as well.
3. Increase in the number of Subscriptions for the learning.

Recommendation
Considering the above options, we intend to move forward with Option 3. The primary objective behind the
recommendation is as follows:
1. Will be able to provide more freedom to the consumer.
2. Can be able to cater to those consumers who prefer using only one type of platform.
3. Can be made to deliver high-quality video content for the preferred consumers, such as 1080p, 2K, and 4K.
