Futsal in the Philippines

a variant of Football
was introduced in the Philippines by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF)
Mr. Esmaeil Sedigh- initiated the extensive development and promotion of Futsal in the
Philippines; he also organized tournaments mandated by the Philippine Futsal League
(PFL)
in 2001, the Philippine Futsal team competed in the 2001 ASEAN Football Federation
Futsal Championship
it also participated in various international tournaments like AFC Futsal Championship
and the SEA Games.

Skills Used in Futsal

a. Kicking- refers to the moving of the ball by using either inside, outside sole or back the heel

b. Dribbling- the ability of moving the ball far from the opponent with succession of taps while
in control of the ball
c. Passing- the act of kicking the ball to a teammate to make the ball safe from an opponent

d. Heading- the act of passing the ball using your head

e. Tackling- a defensive skill in stopping your opponents from scoring

Things you need to remember in case of minor injuries and accidents:

“PRICE”
1. P for Protection. Protect the player from further injuries
2. R for Rest. Let the player rest from doing activities that might cause them pain
3. ICE. During the first 72 hours after the injury, put some ice to reduce pain and swelling
