Oracle Fusion is a family, or group, of software applications

developed by Oracle. It is designed for use by businesses,

specifically medium to larger sized businesses, because of
the cost for licensing of the software.

Businesses can use one or more of the Oracle Fusion applications,

as the applications are designed to integrate together and provide
greater efficiency with business functions and operations.

Oracle Fusion applications

The Oracle Fusion applications can be used in multiple areas of
business, including the following:

 BPM (business process management).

 CRM (customer relationship management).
 Financials.
 GRC (governance, risk and compliance).
 HCM (human capital management).
 Procurement.
 SCM (supply chain management).

Oracle Fusion applications can be installed and run in a

company's data center, or the applications can be hosted and run in
a cloud computing environment. Some features and capabilities of
Fusion applications can even be accessed from a smartphone or
tablet.

Oracle originally announced their Fusion applications in 2005, but

due to delays in the development process, the Fusion applications
were released in 2011. During this time, Oracle acquired JD
Edwards, PeopleSoft, and Siebel Systems, and incorporated some
technologies from their application suites into Fusion applications.
