INTRODUCTION
Welcome to this module Philippine Politics and Governance - Grade 11/12 Modular
Distance Learning (MDL) Self Learning Module on the Socialization.
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators from public
institution to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping the learners meet the standards set
by the K to 12 Curriculum Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) in the “New
Normal” situation while overcoming their personal, social, and economic constraints in
schooling.
This module shall make the students take a deeper look about socialization, values
and values, and conformity to the society. It can help them analyze their personal values and
behavior towards society.

Politics
Definition: A group of activities or actions which formulates or make decision to
achieve the goal of the country or society using power. It came from Greek word polis which
means city-states and politika which means the affair of the cities.

Definition: The entire process of rule or administration of a country or organization
towards its direction or goal. This is the principles and policies which the government follow
on its general functions and practice of power.
Importance: It maintains the trust and confidence of the citizens to the direction of
the organization which leads to their cooperation and support to the state programs and
