Roles of the housekeeping department in hotel operations

This department consists of a team of employees that clean the organization for
example a hotel, the tasks range from bed making, cleaning the rooms,
occupancy reports and hotel ambience.

The overall task of the department is to maintain orderliness in a hotel.


Importance of effective communication
As a housekeeper they must be able to effectively communicate with fellow coworkers, all
administrative personnel such as the front office and heads of departments of the hotel itself.

Communicating consists of the process of generating ideas and is an essential requirement in


the hotel industry.

The different methods of communicating consist of one way communication, the sender
messages the reciever.

And two way communicaton in which the sender can retrieve feedback from the reciever.
