General Characteristics 29
• The power supply module supplies the back-up operating voltages for the:
• MV switch motorisation
• Transmission equipment, such as radio control unit.
• A battery ensures the operation of the whole substation in the event of loss of the
mains supply. The power supply module ensures its charge and monitoring
(regulated and temperature-compensated charger).
Battery self-monitoring
Battery availability check
The power supply module tests the battery status every 12 hours. When two tests
are negative, an alarm is generated and transmitted to the control centre.
Prevention against serious discharge
Serious battery discharge is irreversible. T200 I protects the circuits and causes
the battery circuit to cut out when it detects:
• A basic charger voltage fault
• Consumption in excess of 1.3 A for over 3 minutes on the transmission output
• Alarm transmission to the SCADA system
DE56649FR
Information can be acquired and orders passed on via a direct connection between
the control unit and the switch. The connections are made using removable
connectors polarised which enable:
• Fast and secure installation
• Simple start-up, with the control system, by fitting a simulator in place of the
switchgear
• Reliable operation and maintenance due to servicing operations which do not require
a screwdriver.
Switchgear control-command
Management of different types of switches (SM6, RM6, FBX, Fluokit, Flusarc)
• Single or dual control switches:
• Open position - closed position
• Earth isolation position
• Free input (voltage presence relay for automation system)
These inputs are connected to the switches via connection cords.
This data is received by 0V polarity.
• Available voltages: 48 Vdc, 24 Vdc
• Opening or closing orders by 0V or +V polarity or by current loop.
PE57942

Execution time • Preset automation systems: some automation system functions are factory defined
and integrated (optional) in the basic functions of the T200. These functions require
no on-site programming. They correspond to known operations widely used for the
MV substation switch management application.
Voltage • An IEC 61131-3 programmable logic controller: an RTU Control programming
drop
workshop is used to create automation functions in addition to the preset ones of the
T200, in order to create and tailor specific applications.
Note: the T200 can be controlled either with the preset automation systems or with the built-in
IEC61131-3 programmable logic controller, but exclusively. In either case, the calculation formula
function is included as a standard feature (see page 15).
Time
Configurable parameters: The automation systems can be switched on and off from the local operator panel and
• Number of faults: from 1 to 4 disabled using the Configurator.
• Execution time: from 20 s to 4 mins configurable • Switches can be controlled manually in the following circumstances:
in 5 s steps
• Automation system valid/invalid. • Automation system switched off
• Switch in local mode.
Sectionaliser (SEC)
DE56654
The sectionaliser automation system opens the switch after a predefined number of
faults (1 to 4) during the voltage dip in the reclosing cycle of the top circuit breaker.
• The automation system counts the number of times a fault current followed
by a voltage loss is detected. It sends an open order if:
SW1 SW2
• The switch is closed
• The fault has disappeared
• The MV supply is absent.
• The automation system is reset at the end of the execution time delay.

between two incoming lines (SW1 and SW2) and a busbar coupling switch (SW3).
It must be used in conjunction with VD3H type voltage presence detectors and the
fault current detection function on the busbar incoming lines.
Note: the VD23 relay cannot be used with a Ringmaster type cubicle.
Operating mode
“Normal” position Two operating modes can be configured:
• Standard mode:
If the voltage is lost on one busbar, the automation system opens the incoming line
(SW1 or SW2) and closes the coupling switch SW3. Coupling is conditional upon
the absence of a fault current on the main source.
• Interlock on loss of voltage after switching mode:
SW1 SW3 SW2
After execution of the automation system in standard mode, the voltage presence is
checked for a configurable period. If the voltage is lost during this period,
the coupling switch SW3 is opened and the automation system interlocked.
Coupling sequence
• Coupling takes place if the following conditions are met:
Active coupling • The automation system is switched on
• The switches on incoming channels SW1 and SW2 are closed
• The earthing switches SW1, SW2 and SW3 are open
• There is no voltage on an incoming line SW1 or SW2
• There is no fault current detection on SW1 and SW2
• There is no transfer interlock

• The coupling sequence in standard mode is as follows:
• Opening of the de-energised incoming line switch after a delay T1
V1 SW1 voltage • Closing of the coupling switch SW3.
O
• The coupling sequence in “Interlock on loss of voltage after coupling” mode is
completed as follows:
C • Monitoring of the voltage stability for a delay T3
T1 SW1 • Opening of the coupling switch SW3 if this condition is not met
O
• Locking of BTA automation system.
T3 • The system returns to standard mode after coupling if:
C • The “return to SW1 or SW2” option is activated
SW3 T2

Optionally, the T200 can incorporate the IEC 61131-3 programmable logic controller.
This allows the user to create specific tailored client applications.
The existing variables of the T200 that can be used in the programmes are:
TSD, TSS, TM, TSL, DI, DO
Virtual variables can also be created for the PLC programmes. They can also be type:
DI, DO, DDI, DDO, AI, AO.
A specific development platform (RTU Control) is provided (on the Easergy CD
supplied with the equipment) to create or modify a PLC programme from the following
programming languages:
• SFC – Sequential Function Chart
• FBD – Function Block Diagram
• LD – Ladder Diagram
• ST – Structured Text
• Il – Instruction List

Typical applications that can be created with the programmable logic controller are:
or from an external PLC • MV automatic loop reconfiguration (self-healing network).
• Automation systems similar to those described previously (ATS, BTA): ATS between

Calculation formulas
The calculation formulas are available as a standard feature in the T200.
They can be used in the T200 to create relatively simple logic equations not requiring
a programme to be written in PLC language.
These formulas can be used to create logic equations based on combinations of
variables more simply than a PLC programme. The variable types that can be used
are the same as for PLC programmes (existing variables or virtual variables created
specifically).
Examples of typical applications that can be created with the calculation formulas:
EM100044EN
GPS
and system configuration modification.
Measurements log: Measurements configured as “records” are stored in this log.
Measurements configured as “events” and “alarms” are also recorded
in the relevant logs.
The archive logs can be consulted locally and remotely via the Easergy T200
web server configurator and can be downloaded in Excel format.
Counters
A counter can be declared for each remote indication (TS) and remote measurement
variable internal to the T200 or coming from a device connected to the local network.
Counters can therefore be declared in order to establish:
• The number of operations of a switch
• The number of fault current passes
• Etc.
There are 5 types of counter
• Counters for digital data TSS
• Pulse counter: counts the number of high or low state transitions (configurable)
by a TSS. The theoretical scan interval for this counter is 10 ms
• Time counter: counts the time spent in the high or low state by a TSS
• Integrator counter: counts the number of high or low state transitions by a TSS
in each integration period.
• Counters for analogue data
• Integrator: totals the associated TM every second
• Average: calculates the average for a TM over the last integration period.
The counter reading can be:
• Sent to the control centre if the protocol permits it
• Viewed on the display page of the operating software Modified from the control
centre or the control page of the operating software.
For all logs, when the storage capacity is reached, the most recent event clears the
oldest from the list.

Relay VD23
PE57787
The VD23 is a voltage detection relay for medium-voltage electrical networks from
3 kV to 36 kV, 50 or 60 Hz.
The VD23 is in DIN 96 x 48 mm format and is designed to be installed in the front part
of the cubicle.
Relay VD23 can detect the presence or absence of phase voltage or a phase-to-
phase voltage imbalance, on line-to-neutral or line-to-line voltage, with choice of
phases to be monitored (one phase or 3 phases).
The VD23 self-adapts to the MV network voltage. No network voltage adjustment
is therefore needed.
It is generally used for automatic reconfiguration systems such as automatic transfer
systems or applications of earthing switch locking upon voltage presence.
The VD23 requires the use of a capacitive divider and a VPIS-VO to acquire voltage
measurement. A specific connector is provided for connection of the VPIS-VO.

2 relay outputs are available on the VD23, allowing two operating modes:
R1 = detection of voltage presence (for source changeover application)
R2 = detection of voltage absence (for applications of earthing switch locking upon
voltage presence).
These two relay outputs can be used in normal or inverted position and their action
can also be time-delayed by configuration.
VD23 parameters setup allows definition of the detection thresholds with a
percentage of the line-to-neutral voltage (V) or the line-to-line voltage (U) or the
residual voltage (V0):
• R1: 40% to 90% of the rated voltage (in 10% increments)
• R2: 10% to 30% of the rated voltage (in 10% increments).
Several detection combinations are possible (selection by micro-switches):
• 3 phases + residual voltage: V1 + V2 + V3 + V0
• 3 phases: V1 + V2 + V3 or U12 + U13 + U23
